The PNW roads are fun, and many are twisty, but they're not particularly tight.

Now Treeline...THAT was tight and twisty.

I'm absolutely not hating - make no mistake. Just teasing ;-).

Hehe - yeah - though I don't consider this scolding :-).

Absolutely - and it's why our S1600 Cup won't really catch on on your side of the pond. I can just imagine a Suzuki Swift in top gear bouncing of the limiter all through the stage :-).
Especially for the amateur I really get it - bigger motors tends to last longer (sort of).

Yeah I know. Unfortunately it's been quite a while since I was in Washington. Back in 2002 or something - though twice in 3 three months.
I don't really have any trips planned to the US in anything that resembles near future, but I actually have a mental note in my head, that if I ever am coming anywhere near your corner of the States, I'll give you advance notice. Would be cool to meet.

> Hey! You want to come over and do an event?

Hehe - yeah I want to ;-). But it's not likely to happen anytime soon. We just blew all our savings on a honeymoon last summer, and had our first child this spring. Lots of things to handle right now. I'm just glad the missus' ok with me still rallying locally :-).
But who knows - I might take you up on it in the future - thanks for the offer anyway!

Brian,
YOU GOT MARRIED? In Danmark? Och ikke med systern din?
And you had a kid?

Pictures or ban!

You know how many of the guys I helped build their Xratties in the last 5 or whatever years have 1) Gotten married 2) changed jobs 3) bought houses 4) had one or more kids?
Like 5 out of 6
Everybody but Skye.

So photos of the kiddies! (I'm really enjoying this being a Papa, my girls are the best in the whole world)

And we can arrange it so fru Wildert thinks you are bringing the whole family på semester!
Then once you arrive Oi! what's this there's a local rally this weekend and they are in need of extra drivers!
I'm sure she'd understand you're just trying to help out some guys in need!

That would be yup, yup, nope and yup.
Actually got married in 2007. We just waited a year with the honeymoon (which went to California).

> Pictures or ban!

My pleasure - sorry for the hi-jack though...
The happy couple:

There are lots of pictures from the wedding at: http://bryllup.lbrt.dk/ - including my BMW M5 that I had to depart with - bugger...

Our daughter - Puk - I don't really have a lot of pictures online with, and my home-PC is sort of offline due to virus (will be back up in a couple of days), so the only picture right now, is this really small one:

Hehe - she probably wouldn't have that much of a problem with it. Last summer I dragged her to some oval short track race in Madera CA - just to try it :-).
She thought it was good fun for the evening - real all-american-experience as the guy from San Francisco that sat next to us on the plane called it.
I got kinda dizzy from all that going round and round though :-).

Oh yeah, that's basically what I had in mind when I made that comment. In fact, Spider Lake Long is the stage where I really got the hang of left foot braking in a FWD car. Tour de Forest was the first stage rally I did in the Omni and I started with brand new brake pads and rotors. Somewhere halfway through Spider Lake I remember seeing sparks flying past my window on turns. At the end of the stage the brakes were on fire (just the dust boots, really. Before the end of the rally the front brakes were metal to metal. Way beyond, actaully. But the light bulb came on during that event and from there it was just learning the finesse.

And there was like 3 or 4 non-full Colorado teams leaving from the Best Western/Hampton Inn.
I packed on Saturday night. Scott loaded up his WRX. I literally stumbled out of bed, to the car, popped a muscle relaxer, and mostly came to around SLC and realized we hadn't picked up Jim. I was hoping he'd got a ride with one of the 3 vehicles leaving from that side of town.
Hey Jim if you still need to get the car from Laramie to the PNW there's always the option of having Mark help. Have him drive it out there, then fly him back from Seattle or Portland to Denver.
Day 2 is close. I'm working today but will finish it after work. Worked on it after work then at Jeremy Wimpey's birthday fish taco roof top bash last night until my laptop died.

Not you JVL.

It's funny when people away from the event can judge "tight and twisty" from a couple short video clips.. There were definitely a bunch of 1s, 2s and 3s that could easily catch a person out at this event. Perhaps, as Michel mentioned, not quite like Treeline (twisty as anything), but it's nice to get the car above 2nd gear..smiling smiley A road doesn't have to be all 1s, 2s and 3s to be technical or challenging to run.

Not Treeline, not Pomeroy, not Old Olympus, but something in between. Some really fun roads no matter what a person is used to driving on.

Just saying it was just a really great event on many levels. The roads, the competition, the variety of hardware out there, the awards banquet, and of course the after party..grinning smiley I think the boys did a great job with the video, especially in a day..Very well done, and great press for the Max Attackers.

The real heros were the drivers.
I've filmed and viewed alot of rally stuff in the past few years. 2WD usually is quite boring. Everyone in the top 9 were pushing hard and driving with some real committment. The lower half were steadily getting faster throughout the weekend as well.
Mark Utecht, Cody Crane, and Scott Leonard could have really heated up the battle for the top two positions if they'd had no problems.
