It IS hilarious to see guys trying to act like they have any idea of German pronunciation drawling it out and giving every vowel an exaggerated dipthong like "Maaaaaaiiir-Kooooo---ooor" There's a reason I call them Xratties: most are abonded and ratty when we get them, themn we build them and theuy aren't ratty any more, they're "ex" Ratty. > > > > Grant Hughes > www.nocoastmotorsports.net > Denver, CO John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! On Friday, both South Arm stages (about 18 miles of stage) were cancelled due to a perceived lack of adequate emergency medical support. It was very frustrating. Only the 2 short super-specials and Concord Pond (about 5 miles) ran Friday. Ted Mendham www.rensport.net |

Or sitting from 10 AM till 4 or whatever, What was the entry fee for Friday? Heard the EMT showed up way late but no ambulance so somebody decided to pull the plug. I wonder if the decision to cancel would be different if those making the decision knew that they'd have to return entries.. I would be mildly put PISSED OFF if I towed 400 miles and paid 3-4 hundred+ everything else to drive 2 x 0.8 and then maybe 3 miles. > > > > Ted Mendham > www.rensport.net John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Still better than Wild West a few years back. At least Sat., ran.
I was working the South Arm ATC. I was happy not to be lynched. It was that kind of weekend. Volunteer to work and have everything turn to sh*t. Started the day, Friday morning by getting sh*t from the rally chairman, who was initially unwilling to provide our team with control signs. We finaly got most of the signs we needed and then had one stolen at South Arm. One rally team was really POed and threatened to block the road, because I wouldn't give them an in-time that was 13 minutes in the past. I love being the fun-police. On Saturday, we got sh*t from a lot of angry spectators at Middle Dam,because the schedule was made of rubber, finish control car position impeded spectator access to the stage and the spectator corral was located after the flying finish. The spectator marshals weren't pleased either. We got some these things fixed by the end, but it was stressful all around. We had communication problems, car tracking problems, scoring problems, spectators continually taking to the stage road, walking through the control zone, tripping the finish photo-cells. It was tough to police. The rally cars passed through there 5 times. I think next year we will hire the Hell's Angels to provide security. On the whole the competitors were really understanding, Thanks! Ted Mendham www.rensport.net |
