While I've yet to revoke my anti-fanboy status, I don't think I've ever seen anyone have more fun than Ken.

That car looks amazingly fun, even if the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Cheers, Ted

Looks awesome in practice but things didn't turn out so hot on stage 1 at Defi:

I'm thinking that the car threw itself off the road when it caught a glimpse of its new paint job. yuck.

Interesting note from special stage

It was right at the transition from gravel to tarmac. The front left tire jammed against the body and locked.
The locking wheel along with surface change turned him to the left.
He said he broke a bolt in the suspension, but I don't know if that was the front left at the beginning, or from hitting the ditch after."

The youtube video says "It's hard to see in the video, but the road conditions changed from gravel to tarmac. His left front wheel locked up on the stickier surface, pitching the car to driver's left. Eventually they had to retire after they realized the ground to the fuel pump was broken." - Terrafirma clothing

Wait..."Eventually they had to retire after they realized the ground to the fuel pump was broken." -

Pump?
Singular?
Ground is "broken' then the pump stops.

Can't affect a emergency ground on the side of the road?
ONE pump?

I can't believe they could be so amaturish.

Since it makes no sense, I guess it's just some excuse.

Anybody keeping score of how many times this team has fucked up and DNFed on the first stage--or second?

This is such a classic mistake, often done by beginners. It cracks me up that they say the tire rubbed on the shell causing them to go off the road.
Seriously? Car started to get away from him. He lifted when he had the wheel turned too far to the left. Snaps whole car that way.
Yeah, really surprised about the fuel pump thing and that there wouldn't be two of them in such an expensive car.

I'd be shocked if the car really only has one fuel pump.

It looks like a no expense spared rally car build.

^^well, definitely not this....had the left front tire REALLY locked up, it wouldn't have snapped the car back left like it did....can only do that if it has tracking (aka rolling and not locked up).

had it really 'locked up', the car would have just gone in the direction of the rear tires or skidded to stop.

After being here for as long as you have been?
WTfawk.
How in the world can somebody make the decision to buy a crazy expensive car, spend crazy amounts of money buy parts and cage and suspension and all this shit, tow to an event and be the optimistist to the point of trusting ONE PUMP?

Jon not ragging on you specifically but in GENERAL, in THIS COUNTRY something has happened that people decide to do CRAZY and EXTREME cars and budgets----which appear well done-----and skip absolutely fundemental shit that even club level cars 30 years ago did, like redundant pumps, redundant ignition amplifiers.

I don't give any more shit about what Block does than he himself, and since he so routinely throws away his crews efforts and his own money---fuckin shut up you guys who are going say, like idiots "it's HIS money!!!! Waaaaaaaa! He can spend it like he wants!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!----of course it's his money, that's not the point-----by crashing on the first or second stage---or like last time out in a nice escort inpractice....so if he really didn't have 2 pumps and decent ground----and if he and his co-driver are tooo dim to figure out a ground---whatever.

But nobody HERE at Rallyanarchy has any excuse why they shouldn't have 2 pumps, not after one of our own Tom Buress in a widdle Wabbit was a coup[le of stages from winning Doo Wops tilll his single pump puked.

[cowers]

I'm working on it!!

[/cowers]

seriously though, its one of those things 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' (like my god-damned-cost-me-CRS-points-and-a-pretty-good-overall-finish fucking aluminum drive shaft)

adding a second in-line pump, or a redundant pump means going in there with more fuel lines, custom mounting brackets, etc, etc, etc....and a whole lot more TIME and cost for something that's on the low end of the probably scale of breaking (its already an upgraded pump, not the OEM one)....trade-off between having it and getting on stage...I chose 'getting on stage' smiling smiley

plus, I need to replace all the interior fuel lines anyway, so eventually I'll start a thread on that and the fuel pump!

there's a LOT of shit that ain't done on this car yet, but at least i'm racing!

I still have the same pump and filter that came on the car.
It is high on my list for winter/next year upgrades.
