The old style works great! I've never slipped a pedal... they just look horrible. Fiveten made about 4 new styles after I bought mine. Of course. Oh well. No one care's about your shoes when your going really fast. Welcome to the cult of JVL drink the koolaid or be banned. |

I am going to try a pair of the fivetens next. I never considered them for bike shoes. Matt Smith Racing in glorious black and red My daily life is a Saab story (sold!) |

Ironically I was sponsored by DC for a while. I went through a pair of shoes every 2-3 weeks. Current pair I'm wearing are Supras and have had for about a year, which are comfy but about ready to be replaced. I usually buy shoes from whiskeymilitia.com anymore. Though one pair I bought was too small, but traded them for a few cases of beer.
My favorite have always been DVS. When the DC supply ran dry that's all I skated in. Grant Hughes |

I've always only worn the really simple, mostly black, no flashyness skate shoes. Lace protection used to be my only requirement. I can tear through a pair of laces in a very short amount of time.
Globe sponsored Eric Bana's rally car for Targa Tazmania. Love the Beast was actually a pretty entertaining movie. Grant Hughes |

New Balance.
Sidi mx boots. (I have astar T8s now, but they suck.) After No Fear quit, nobody makes driving shoes in a 15. I'm still gluing mine back together. Wow, this thread is so full of suck that I'm getting dumber for reading it. Lurch Eric Burmeister The west coast...of Michigan Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/17/2009 11:46AM by Lurch. |

I had a pair of the Danny Way signature shoes and those things lasted forever. Probably a couple years. Worked through BMX dirt jumping (using them as brakes on the street), skateboarding and a couple warped tours where one rained cats and dogs the whole time and I came out with the shoes smelling like mold. I finally rolled my ankle skating in them and decided they smelled real bad at that point and got a new pair.

What the hell is this thread about again?
There are two ways to really go for it and sustainably rally (more than a couple events a year) in this country: 1) Earn/acquire a ton of money and use that large fortune to make a small one, or if you're really smart and lucky market your automotive adventures into some income. If you're really REALLY good, you may even have some decent results to show for it. 2) Make rallying your number one priority above family, friends, property ownership, hopes of retirement, financial solvency, and see how long you can ride the credit cards before the man catches up to you. I should have started rallying and THEN got the girlfriend. One time she said to me, "Do you plan on doing this the rest of your life?" I didn't pause, I just looked her in the eyes and said, "Yes". She gave me the biggest scowl of dissapointment. I made sure to chuckle to myself because I would have been in a body bag if I laughed out loud. > > > Andrew Steere, 1973 > Lyndeborough, NH > KB1PJY |
