I've never seen anyone with a lexan windshield at service, but I have seen many teams that keep a spare glass windshield in the service rig.

Run a fullface helmet and put the visor down...

Lexan might be allowed for a stage or two under certain circumstances. There simply is no hard fast rule that will cover all situations. Bets bet is to always carry some sport goggles. They can be had at nost cycle shops for $20 or so. Full faced helmets with visors are nice also.

One concern with missing windshields is intrusion from branches, rocks or cows...apparently Colorado was open range...so the rear hatch was a better solution than nothing.

Old Audis are hard to find glass for, Foci and Imprezas not so much. I'm amazed at the number of teams who do not have a spare windshield laying around ( along with goggles and window nets).
