Fair enough, but I honestly did mean it as a quote about current rallying. It's conveying a GOOD message. Yes, there is a part in it about not being single minded, but there are times where everyone wants to be single minded. Myself included. This was never about John or I. It's really sad that a stupid, childish feud that I don't even remember how it got started has reached such a height that when I post something as small as a quote it gets this blown out of proportion.

But if that's what's going to happen, fine.

I never directed at anyone. Infact, while I usually don't mind what Keith says, in this case, it kind of escalated this entire thing.

But yes, it probably would be good for John, Keith, and I to stop nagging at each other... I haven't been ragging on John... so...

The original quote has some interesting content. I don't know who said it or where it came from. I find the most interesting aspect to be the "just after" imaginary future. As in, ok, everyone has valid opinions.... what next?

I wouldn't get hung up on the "valid opinion" thing JVL, it would be a whole different level of seriousness if a term like "valid solution" or "valid answer" was the discussion, but it isn't.

So, make it simple: 2 people. Each with a valid (and for the sake of the discussion, opposing) opinion. I'll agree with the quote that there is variety and color from this scenario. Yes, it's nice that the two don't shoot each other.

But what next? This isn't a sport where we look at who has the nicest opinion and they win... it's racing and there are decisions made and directions taken. And certainly with opinions [and here's mine ] most within the sport naturally only think about their small area of participation and think that should be optimized, without considering the effects on the other areas.

I kept going back to that australian forum (the same one that the other interesting thread I dug up is from) to link to the thread, but it seems to have been edited over

It was about "which is faster? RWD or FWD?" and there was some heated arguing going on, but good points all around. The poll is now vastly in favor of the third option, "It depends on the driver-" which I happened to vote on first haha
