Brilliant post.

Are you sure some sort of seatbelt brace wouldn't have solved your first problem?

The solution was to jack up the license plates and drop them onto a different car.

The second car was funny. It was an RX-7, and I had bits of angle iron welded to the lower suspension link mounts (the uppers were LONG gone) that went forward to the floor where it bolted through the floor to some plates on the inside of the car. Why? When I tried welding it, it kept blowing through because it was so rusty. Clue and a half right there.

Bracing to prevent breakage due to awesomeness is one thing, but rust isn't awesome.

i love trying to jack up a rusted car... put the jack on the rusted uni-body jack points, try to raise the car..... every pump of the jack you just hear CRUSH, look under the car and notice the jack is thru the floor.

and yeah, this awesome GTX brace is total crap.

I've had volvos where the "frame" bits would crush when jacking
