Tall Pines entry list
November 04, 2009 01:36PM
Plenty of entries for Tall Pines. Canada continues to kick ass, while Rally X-Games America continues to stuff it's head up the wrong ass!

Sprongls in a WRC Passat? Who's got pictures of that thing? I wish I could be there, but there is too much work to do at home.

It goes in cycles for both countries. There was a great rally on Vancouver Island back in the early 80's. A bunch of us used to run it, then the timber owner pulled the plug and no more. We also ran one on the mainland west on Vancouver. I think I won the last one the ran. It disappeared the next year. Koksilah Stages or some such..not to trust my memory though.

That's back when Bendle was the way fast guy.

I think Tall Pines has been run every year since 1971.
They currently have 51 entries.
2008 43 started
2007 42 started
2006 30 started
2005 40 "
2004 44 "
2003 50 "
2002 40
2001 40
etc
Other than 2006 being an "off" year, it looks pretty consistant, to me.
A Volvo even won it, once.
The beer is stronger up there, too. ;-)

No, its 51. they leave some #s assigned to no car between driver's seed groups in case they add late entries.

What did you do Brian? If you haven't been banned by a customs official it"s probably worth contacting them to get a ruling.

If you get that shit sorted out we would be more than happy to have you up there!
(Think ice cold good beer!)
Anyhow, I couldn't find an arrive and drive driver this time around but will be heading up there with Lee and his GTI (Red one at the RNYsprint) smiling smiley
Plus my car isn't all together-front strut was busted at IRNY, removed tranny to drop in Lee's car etc...

Enjoy the event, everyone!!!!!!!!! The Hastings stages are so cool, actually almost all of the stages are top notch. And the weather can make it a snow, gravel or combo event. The event workers are always really helpful, even to foreigners. Pine's has been good to me and I wish everyone the best of luck!!!!!!

Ahhh, Sprongl's WRC VW Passat must have developed problems. They are now now shown as driving a TBA. ;-)

There's was an A6 in Denver with a Skoda Octavia WRC engine (at least in 05.) The thing is sick! Our 450 hp A4 hill climb car couldn't keep up with it on the track.
