"fair weather"? Let's go now! In the snow. I just need to put gas in the car.

I Have he GPS routes, I could e-mail them for inspection. The route is set up with 2 legs per day, and gas and food available at the end of each leg.

Okay, thay gun is COOL!

General question here: How to lgs/nuts get retightened without ever stripping the threads? I always wondered that. Are they machined differntly? thread starters?

It's almost impossible to crossthread bulleted studs. The nut goes so far onto it that you can't start threading it at an angle.

Every 3/4-ton Chevy van wheel bearing I do gets me eight more long, bullet-nosed 14x1.5 studs. Every half-ton gets me six. I think I'm up to three cars' worth, now. Maybe I should start thinking about actually using them.

The Chevy truck studs are monsters in their shank and the shank is LONG.
As in it'd stick out past a typical car flange maybe 1.5" before the threads start.
I've looked at them since they went to M14 since I've been doing M14 on things since maybe 88 or so.
Seems for most of use they're not a viable stud, and the nut is BIG like 21 or 22mm making for problems in wheels where there's any counterbore hole ie no room for the socket.

That's why I push the BugPack VW M14 stud with the lead or snout and use the VW bus 19mm hex nut.

M14 is the norm on serious cars in the real world.
