My motorcross club dues are 250 a year, private track, 50 members, and you have to do 20 hours per year of cleanup/maintenance to stay on. I would pay that for a rally club no problem.
There has to be a spot within 100 miles of seattle that you could do this at. Since rally cars are streat legal, would you still run into the Off road designation BS on private land? |

I think there could be a problem with neighbors, as has been issues with other motorsport parks ... The interesting idea about this is the land is not limited to just rally use. Could be for dirt bike and possibly 4WD groups amongst others depending on terrain, size and facilities ... Wasn't there something in the news a few month's back of a mining company in the Chehalis/Centrailia area being shut down ... Correct that would be this coal mine:

Care would need to be applied as most county zoning prohibits motorsports or race tracks in a lot of the land area. In the long run reality always wins. |

As much as I would like to do some sort of official sanctioned event........it ain't going to happen any time soon.
I really just want to have a few guys use a chunk of road for a few hours. It's risky but it is also simple. So far the only person to suggest any roads has been Derek. Thanks! I will have a look and see if anything is workable. Either way I will be having a BBQ shop party at my place some time in January. Robert. "You are way too normal to be on Rally Anarchy." I haven't been out for years, and the roads I use to use got closed down then ... My second choice, back up's roads, happen to be a long way away and would be snowed in this time of year, if they are even useable still.
A problem with the Seattle area this time of year is roads to the East get snowed in or are not available, (gated), that means north or south which can be a long drive in crap traffic, and then may not be available too. We may need to send out a scouting party see what can be found and then hope it's still usable when the time to play comes ... Any thoughts ? up at Walker ORV there is a sweet gravel pit, and a pretty twisty approach road. We usually have a special test there when we have an event on the motorcycles. It has good sight lines in and out, we could easily keep it sake with 2 spotters. Plus, it is in a designated ORV area, so we would likely not get any crap from the ranger, as long as we look like we know what we are doing. I should make a run out there in the next couple weeks.
BTW, my buddies place, they are likely to not be worried about shennanigans, as they have an annual demo derby there on new years eve. Crap cars, heat races, and a main event. I am just waiting to hear back from him. |

Hey Robert,
If you are feeling adventurous, the boys over at Island Rallysport Club are putting on a rallycross every third sunday of the month in 2010. I know it is far for you to come and fairly expensive to get over to the island but it is a lot of fun. Here is a link to the course. It is an old picture and it is a heavy equipment manufacturing place so they are constantly changing up the course and adding different roads through the center of the track. It ends up being about 2 kms. in length and you will get about 8-10 runs a day. I talked my mother into letting me keep the rabbit at her place so that I can run the full 2010 series. Google map finally has an updated view of the track on our land that gets very little use.
