Thanks Gene,
I don't have a car any more and I don't have a regular ride anymore either. (Norm's quit rally)

There are a few people from around here that are looking at the event ... I might tag along for the hell of it but I have a prety busy schedule ahead of me.

Greetings earthlings, the complication were from an apparently nasty blood cot
If a hunk of coagulated tobacco drenched clot breaks off and floats away it can lodged in tour lungs and they stop working, or if it jams in the heart and you become heartless, and begin spouting Neo-con lies and start listing 24/7 to Rush Limpdick and Glenn Beck.
The real question was if it clogged the single capillary leading to the single brain cell, how'd we know when the brain ceased working?
It was that serious.

Too much pain to write any more except if Jens had followed my advice, i would appreciate his comments now more.

Get better JV. Tried to give you a call, but didn't get through. Always risky when someone cuts on you (I trust hospitals like I trust the government). Hopefully you come out of this with bionic knees and no pain!

Glad you're okay John. It coulda been a lot worse.

I had a friend who died just two weeks ago from complications from a broken leg he got in a car accident on New Year's eve...blood clot, then pneumonia, then kidney failure from the antibiotics, then respiratory issues, and finally brain damage from his fever. Unplugged him and he passed quickly. Sad thing is the accident was pretty minor, and he was never rendered unconcious until the complications set in.

I always wondered about when they said 'he died from complications' what that exactly meant. Now I know.

I don't know you JVL but I'm glad to hear that you dodged a bullet with that blood clot. Here's to wishing you a speedy and full recovery! Hope your new knee treats you well, too. winking smiley

What advice?

As for your pain.... Tell them to crank up your meds. Sheesh.

I was scheduled for the 1st of 2 knee replacements last month, but it was cancelled a week prior due to some anesthesiologist covering his ass from the ambulance chasers, because I had a drug eluting stent in October. Now I have to wait until late this year to replace my knees (assuming my heart don't fart in the meantime).

You had a clot that could cause you to stroke out? Awwww... That might be an improvement in your mood and behavior.

You're such a whining pussy. Drink some Red Bull and stop crying.

on the serious side, JVL...glad you're OK. close one.

on the not-so-serious side...I agree with Jens....redbull gives you wings and will let your knee heal faster. Of course, you'll need a way to steer yourself around, so make sure they give you plenty of viagra so you'll have an internal joystick to navigate with, just don't fly for longer than 3-4 hrs at a time.

JVL sure is quiet. The hospital staff either got sick of his whining and pulled the plug, or they increased his meds.

If they cranked up his meds it should be interesting to watch his withdrawl comments over the next few months.
