Those weren't grandstands, they were a set for a TV show.

They weren't "fans", they were "extras".

Lots of questionable statements. How can 700-2000 visitors a year bring in 2.5 million in tourist dollars?

looks like no plans for us to be able to test there either

If you look at the lodge suggested in the article. Rooms average $275 per nite.
Food: Breakfast at about $20.00 and dinner at about $75.00.
Thats $249,000 for 700 visitors.
That does not include payment for the EXPERIENCE.
Gas, car rentals, gifts for the kids back home etc.
Then remember Tourist dollars includes some factoring of how those direct payments to the hotel, the EXPERIENCE turn over in the community. The hotel pays for services, taxes, supplies. The EXPERIENCE pays the employees who rent houses, buy groceries, pay taxes etc.

^^we went there for half a day....rented a car at the airport, didn't stay in any of the local hotels, but still went to Snoqualmie falls area, had an expensive lunch at the resort/hotel there, and Krista bought a few things in the gift shop. I'd say we spent in town almost what it cost me for my half day experience.

In retrospect, when our waiter asked me where we were from/etc, I should have said we were specifically there for the 'new' rally school.
