What's that have to do with me?
Hey though, should I replace that one insert or try to bend it back or just run with it?
Also, will the Burmeister top mounts work with my struts? Was thinking of doing something to get some camber and caster adjustment in the front of the Merkur.

So when you get the inserts they're already valved, right?

What if it's goin on a golf vs a volvo? What do you do then? Send them back to get re-valved?

I order the inserts after I speak with the person needing them and set the valving and the length. I can have things sitting around in hopes that somebody is going to need X lenfth and xyz/abc for valving.

The come valved and set for length and the top is a 22x110mm bar sticking out.
I make the tops into Ford GpA or Subaru or whatever is needed.

I'd find an old lathe that you could chuck up all the way to the end and then wail on it first. If you kill it then replace, although it'll come unfinished as we see above so it would be smart to have me doing it.

I think you should wait till we have the alloy copies of the GpA adjustable arms.
I've found a guy who made a run of 20 and his machinist has the cad file, I ave to follow thru and rattle his chain to get the program.

So the gpA stuff looks like this... I'm seriously impressed by it.

John,
Do you have steel peices to weld to the top of the strut towers? Or whats the deal on the conversion process to go to gpA on cars that don't have that style strut tower?

The other route you stated was Subaru.

The subaru tops you like to use look like this, correct??

Front

Rear

My last question is:
Do you use Fronts on all 4 corners or do you use front/rear like subaru does?

Front rear like OEM so the bolt circle and stuff is right.
In the Ford there's no mods to the front, but the method of retention is different from the Subie.

It reallly is pretty damn good stuff.

This available for a club level guy at good prices, this is as good as WRC cars in the mid 90s.
WE certainly aren't at that level so this is pretty damn good for us

I used chrome moly tubing from day on back 6-7 years ago cause I know its supposed to be chrome moly, yet I see the very beautiful RSSVP from Argentina saying "new for this year (09) now the (uber high end like 6500 bucks/car stuff) use of chrome moly tubing!"

What ever happened with the stuff you were looking into?

John, Whatever happened with those strut tower plates that I was going to use with the subaru mounts? I remember you sent me the struts so I could get the car on it's own wheels while you were waiting on those plates to come in from Williams, but that was the last I heard.

Oh, this setup from Norway? (the one on the right)

Well, the seller bought it in the first place from ATM sport UK, so I was sketchy on it from the get go. Then you told me, based on the damper part numbers that it was originaly a tarmac setup with 500/200 damping rate and 155mm of travel from a ford. But it's used and could be anything by now.

For my Mazdog that didn't seem like a good idea to pay all kinds of money for and to ship a BIG & Heavy unknown from Norway when I could put it towards brand new shit from you.

Plus IIRC, I can use 175mm travel in the gtx without issues.

So I'm going to have to finally give in and call you to discuss Specs and Terms.

I emailed Tim Taylor last week to get the specs on the setup you made for him and he said he'd look through his notes and get back to me.

Front struts are 185mm travel rears are 210mm, damping is 320/120 if I remember correctly, and the springs are 14" 250lb/in all around. Although I'm thinking of trading the fronts up to 275lb/in.

And I'd suggset a bunch less in the back. I put 175s on Dereks car and it worked SOOOOOPER.
Rear valving was 300/100

I should be on the lookout for 2.5" ID springs
