Hey,
I'm a troll/moron/loser East Coast guy trying to see if there is any like minded bi-curious rally bottom feeders going to TONR. No strings attached.

Won't make the rally but we'll be sure to turf up the school roads and leave them strewn with Saab parts this weekend. Extra points if ya don't hit the exhaust pipes! smiling smiley

I don't think I'd remember my own birthday if it wasn't on a holiday.

Hey Kevin- Nice meeting you as well. The sanctioned beat runs were good for us too. uncovered a couple of things that would have ended our day had they happened in an event.

Sure was fun to be in a rally car again. Worked up to feeling comfy throwing the thing down the road a bit.

Color scheme is final...until it gets covered up with RA's "sponsor" stickers

Either broke or lost the taper pin for the shifter, giving a box full oh neutrals.
Single fan wasn't enough to keep it under 200deg F waiting in line to start.
Susp feels about right balance wise, but seems too low and too soft. Springs and rally valved Bilsteins from Tom Bier...and I can't remember what they are... Brakes were good...don't think I have the bias adjuster set up right, so had very little adjustment.
Engine is boggy/stumbles under 3k rpm, full throttle...I'm thinking it's stupid rich, as you pointed out. but as soon as you get up there, it pulled fine up to 7k.

I like the handbrake...that makes the shitty little hairpins fun.

So, the punchlist for NEFR isn't huge, but I've got some work to do.

install proper gearbox
wire up lights, maplight, computer
install shims or taller springs
fiddle with CIS
navi footrest
check radiator for blockage/install second fan

would like to put new lifter buckets in and adj valves...nobody would call this a fresh motor. smiling smiley

You've probably already told me, but know anything about making the ignition advance curve better?

The Swedes say set it fixed at 34 degrees and call it good. You're not trying to make a street motor run from idle to whatever and pass emissions, you're 'spoosed to be running it full throttle and keeping it 3500 to whatever.
Lemme check what Ford 8v rally Pinto says later, but I have to run to machine shop and carve shit that i'm welding now--Sub-a-rat struts I hope to get into UPS TODAY!!!!!

I could have sworn that Hollywood stole that line from Bill the Cat in Bloom County.

And Mike, you should paint the wheels black. I hear that John loves that. LOL.
