What to do with a very old rally car

Go on the Hot Rod Power Tour

73 AMC Gremlin from my first season in 1988 or so.
401 AMC V8 2 wheel drive.
Power tour ran from Newton Iowa to Molbil AL.
700 miles to get there 1300 on the tour and 1300 back to Denver CO
All with no AC from June 4 thru June 18.
I can cross that off my BUCKET LIST.
By the way that's a 1929 Ford Tri Motor. $60 for a ride.

Very cool!

I used to own a 1968 AMC AMX and a 1969 AMC Javelin SST so there's a soft spot for AMC products in my heart.

Edited to fix typo.

That Trimotor used to live in my father's hometown in Kansas. Pretty sure he knew the guy when he was growing up, Chuck LeMaster was his name. Very cool plane, I'd have gone for a ride.

Sorry I missed you when you came through Chattanooga. Hope Corky Coker's was fun.

How far out of current log book ability is the car?

I would run it a few times for fun.

The engine is too big 401 cu in with the .8 factor for overhead valves it is about 8 or 9 cu in too big.
Cage is not up to spec.
Most likely some other things too.
We might take it to the local Rally Cross.

For 8 or 9 CU Inches I would ask RA/ NASA for a waiver if you wish to do the other work ness to bring the car to spec.

Yeah, tell them you're willing to put a 12mm restrictor plate under the carbie to limit power, then they be sure to waive it.

Maybe go after Pastrami's jump record? That thing could fly 270 feet, 4th of July is coming up, I'll bet there is a county fair that would host it.

Did I see this car driving through Manitou Springs on June 26th? I was there supporting my girlfriend at the Pikes Peak hillclimb. I'm guessing you were going to the vintage car meet.

what's the point of that cubic inch restriction anyways? Just to get rid of big heavy cars on stage?
