Dad's been rallying 240's for ever, little brother is rallying as well, and the guy used to co-pilot his dad. Mom is in the service crew :-). Actually they DON'T... stock they're around 1250 kg.... and easily brought down due to all the crap that's in them. Volvo's group A race cars for circuit racing were below 1000 kg - more like close to 900 kg. Albeit that's with some trick body work - but with the rules you guys have for building (we're not allowed to lighten ANYTHING - body's to remain stock, no carbon fiber hoods or other parts, etc.), it shouldn't be too hard to come close to that. I think my Datsun 510 was on the last year of homologation for Olympus also.
But I guess the best way to defend somene calling a Volvo ugly is to put up a picture of a SAAB....
