Anybody with a Terrible-Trip 303?
July 07, 2010 12:15PM
helping a poor boy who was saddled with a Terrible-trip 303.
The Terrible-manual says for cal Press CAL and ...blah bla..press F and S..

The problem is there's nothing marked F or S.

The Oafishal Pommie Terror-trip manual says "press S and F",
The Susquehanna Motorsport manual reprint says "press F and S"

Aside from the essential INSANITY of somebody selling a couple of innocent boys an absurdly overboard gawddam Terrible-trip,

what's going on?

Nah... Bill left to Texasss.

I can't find the manual for the 303+. John seems to have misplaced it.
Are you calibrating the odo? I think I can recall that much.

Press Cal to select either Cal 1 or Cal 2, then
Press Cal Set
Enter in the calibration number
and press Enter.

The F and S are on the terratrip 1

Sean we can run the car in gear here.
The boys need to know what to do to calibrate the miserable POS junk thing.

The printed instructions are junk, says "for 303" and refers to buttons not there.

I always knew the terrible trips were poor Odod, but this---absurd high end thing---sold and installed not working, with useless instructions really is scandalous.

how i do my 202 and it seems terra trip for the most part keeps all their stuff the same.

set your calibrate to 0100

switch to the odo

drive a mile

write down the number that is on the odo

now set your calibrate to that number you wrote down.

you have now calibrated your odo

if you can't drive a mile, drive a half mile and x by 2, or quarter mile and x by 4, you get the idea.

On my volvo I have the 303's sensor reading off of the back of the wheel studs on the passenger front wheel, so 5 signals per revolution. My tires are 778 revs per mile according to specs on tire rack. 778 * 5 = 3890 which is my calibration factor, and I enter it in using the method I described up in the 5th post. Easy easy.

A 65cm rally tire is about 788 revolutions per mile, multiply that by how many signals the computer gets per revolution and punch it in!

Seems sighting off the wheel stud heads---the typical way for last 3 decades, was too difficult so the installer has something behind the speedo...
What a cluster-fuck.

and thats where my method works regardless what sensor you are using. thats how terra trip says to do it, well at least in the older ones. i cant think they would change it. and by older i mean within the last decade. mine look like the newer one just not as many features.

i mean really, has no one ever heard thats how to program a terra trip. i would get confused when people complain about them. they are like idiot proof. if i can do it anyone can.

the point with setting the cal to 0100 makes the odo tick off once for every time the sensor does what its supposed to do. then just put that number in as you cal and you done. nothing hard about it what so ever.
