both focus' went off bad and DNF, the FX16 burned to the ground, the Audi 90 went off several times but they managed to finish, Jim in the 142 never started SS2 not sure what happened there, MR2 had an off and engine issues, the 510 blew a head gasket on SS1, the 210 had issues on saturday and did not finish. A few others didnt make it as well. Trying to remember the details. i have a couple hundred pics i have to pull off the camera and upload.

That is some serious carnage fershur. Was the FX an electrial issue? Last year the roads were deceivingly slick. The granite or quartz or(?) dust that is on them looks like asphalt but just slithers out from under tires. Really odd that all the dnf's were 2wd cars. Sounds like a conspiracy plot of sorts.

From what I understand Jim's daughter had a medical issue and went to the hospital and Jim withdrew, no issue with the 142.

The fx was having fuel issues at the service just before the stage (wouldnt start) but no ones really sure what happened. Its now a 'training vehicle' for the local fire dept!

We had no issues in the rally ranger....roads were awesome and the new stages are amazing! Can't wait for next year!

210 went out w/ diff problems - probably teeth off the pinion/ring gear, but didn't open it up yet to see.

I heard a nasty rumor that 'refill diff oil' was on their to-do list all weekend but never got crossed off.

We just got home. I am tired..

Friday was not so good for us, the roads were very slick, and we had 2 small off's, both we were able to get back on the road with out help. Jenne forgot her motion sickness stuff in the van, and she got sick on a few stages, so after starting 14th, we dropped to the back and finished like 22nd or something. We started Saturday's stages with a fresh outlook, some good drugs for jenne. We started to get the hang of notes, and I started committing more to the corner entry and actually using the brakes hard! Set a bunch of stage times in the top 10, and climbed up to 12th OA for the rally, but did really well i Saturdays standing finishing 8th OA and 2nd 2wd. The car worked awesome, Thanks JVL.

At the super special on Saturday I pretty much tried to get the car sideways everywhere, really did not car about time. That was fun.

Other stories, Christian Watkins hit a post on a cattle guard, sweep pulled them out, they continued on the stage, and a few miles later went off and rolled the car 5 times. Roof is done, LF suspension done, fender, hood, skid plate mounts, and all windows done. Don't think they should fix it, told his dad to build a very low buck Volvo for him to learn in.

The FX developed a missfire which overheated the exhaust, which is very close to the fuel tank and brake line. It heated the tank and fuel vapors found their way out onto the exhaust, burned through the brake line, then burned the car to the ground plus a 50 foot tree and a bit of scrub grass. Sad. Nothing left.

I am off to bed now.

Also, El Blendero was no where to be seen, and I was disappointed not to be able to partake in a proper CRS after-party. winking smiley
