There's a super bunny at our shop that's just dying to be rallied again. Owned by owner of Checkpoint Racing, Mitch Williams. It's a bad ass car too. Haltech, 16V, power steering conversion, and some other cool stuff. Not sure of much more or if he's even selling it, but it's sat bored for almost two years now.

I have Tom Lawless's old civic sitting right here doing nothing, with Joseph Burke/Bill Bacon's old drive train. Type R engine fully built with ITB's and a quaife short ratio box, DMS suspension, etc, etc...

front rods have been converted, and tied into a beefy skid plate/subframe mount if I remember.

Sounds like the current owner/builder has done the right things then. Sounds like a good rally car.

Our (old) car came from Calgary. The process wasn't bad at all, but did require contacting Mazda for a letter stating that the car met U.S. standards. However, that was all for a pretty old (1982) model car. So, I would expect the standards to be pretty low (ie no airbags, etc etc). I have no experience bringing in newer cars.

Of the currently available cars, the Civic and Focus seem quite nice. Either would probably be as competitive (or more) than the BBQ'd Toyota. That Civic was fast in Havas' hands! Van Way seems to do well in his Focus. Both have pretty good aftermarket supplies for powertrain.

Renting a car also seems like a great option for the next MAX-ATTACK! round- Especially if you rent something local and don't have to transport it. You'd probably come out even on cost.

My friend Ian needs someone to buy his subaru ('95 impreza coupe - no OBD that year, so easier for emissions testing areas)

It's currently set up for G2. Go back to open (or open-light) when you put the AWD tranny, prop shaft, diff and rear axles back in it (they are included).

Full FIA sillyness cage, DMS 50mm suspenders, 2.5L engine, sparco seats, 2008 geforce FIA harnesses (good to 2013), light bar.

AWD kit is 20KG center diff in the tranny, R160 viscous rear LSD.

I saw an RX7 for sale somewhere just the other day, on ebay, 1200 starting bid, 1800 buy it now... no idea if its Group2 or not though. I think I might have seen the link on here, but I don't remember now.

anyways, here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120600600533

Had I the means, I'd fly out and drive it home. Play with it on Lake Winnebago inthe winter, and maybe even get in on LSPR. I'd flog it until it broke. Then after it broke, put it in whatever class an LS1 swap would do to it.

Why is it that they limit the displacement of engines to a 383 or whatever the size is? I think it would be fun to build my '87 Dodge Diplomat with a 440 and hit the stages. Or maybe an old Caddy with a 502...

I agree. Plus, it is the most wicked sounding car coming through the woods I have ever heard....

Roger Jackman's gp5 Dodge Colt is now legal for gp2,
and he seemed to do all right in it.
It needs some cage updates and a refresh,
but the price is low and it's in WA.

roger is being core now, and doesn't need his car yet,
maybe when he gets back.

ps I think he rode down one of the stage roads in Pomeroy.
