Xgames Rally cross
July 31, 2010 10:14PM
Anyone else watch it? I only caught the last two heats. It seemed pretty cool. Hopefully the rally cross series "Rallycar" is putting on will be just as good.

I watched the whole thing. The racing wasnt bad at all.... my wife even kind of enjoyed it... she said it would be better with 5 or 6 total cars......and a sanctioning body that could run the program. That was a total cluster fuck. I bet the guy who waved the checkered 1 lap early in the last race didnt make it out of the place alive.

Yeah, I've seen a few people post around that they tivo'd it and replayed it and counted and they had 5 laps? I'm not sure, I only had it live. But Deegan definitely went off the jump, unfortunately. It would be great for him to get red flagged again.

still want to punch the person who said "LA coliseum? should be just fine for cars - those openings are 1.2 cars wide, so they'll fit through no problem!"

Aside from that and the worse-than-usual course design for "Rally Car Racing" (that was what, a dozen hairpins [most of which were PAINFULLY slow], a jump, and two real corners?), it was all pretty entertaining to watch. certainly interesting to watch at a 'sports bar' w/o sound - "What'd he get red flagged for? I dunno! What's going on now?"

Truthfully a little surprised that their 'joker lap' wasn't as fast as not going over the jump, but deegan's pass seems to have proved that.

Look's like Tanner's ERC practice is paying off.

Well, its a 70 foot gap jump. The second you leave the ground you're no longer being propelled forward by your tires. Anyone on the ground will still be powered, as your float through the air.

It's the reason BMX racers/DH mtn bikers suck up the fast jumps and only get air on the ones they have to to clear, it's faster to be pumping the track, or pedaling.

watching this, and hearing that it was supposed to be SIMILAR to ERC... what a bad joke.

honestly, the venue was far too small, and a 70ft jump is hardly a joker lap... oh, excuse me, JOKER JUMP.

AHHHH!!! FAIL!

and the announcers are HORRIBLE... though, not quite as bad as the announcer for the WRC footage on MotorsTV. listening to that guy makes me want to stab my ears with white hot metal things.

I will not even attempt to watch MotorsTV WRC programs, I'd rather do without, they simply fucking ruin everything. Even if I turned the sound off, I do not understand why they add more time and footage, but cover fewer cars. You get what, 3-4 teams?

OMG This! A thousand times this! Twice the running time with 1/4 the content of the ONE half hour show. Don't know how they manage that. The Motors TV forum is full of complaints. Simon Hill makes me want to set puppies on fire with his meandering never finish a sentence delivery. It's like local cable access doing WRC coverage. Hope they lose the contract.

the great thing about the internet is that if we accidentally download their program, we can just hit delete and then try again till we get the right program, then watch

the other great thing about the internet is that the big tv in the living room is now set up as a monitor and we can watch wrc full size without having to wait almost two weeks for hdtheater and we don't have to pay the money for cable

ah, technology

I think it's racing underground, or something like that, though I don't know if registration is open anymore and I lost my account when I didn't use it for a while.
