I'm going to guess that you mean "little volunteering" to be on here with input, which is true because I'm not car knowledgeable

however, I've been spending my time helping out those of you who do rally at events from the time I could hand over time cards, in that case, I've got over 30 years of volunteering to make sure racers have enough people doing those little jobs out on course that allows them to be on stage, along with doing "little" stuff at service for more than a few competitors as well, amd of course recruiting new volunteers along the way by dragging friends and family members along with me

so, no, I don't have much to contribute as far as helping out specifically with building a car, but I am pretty sure that no one who actually goes out and runs an event would consider the form of volunteering I am able to do as "little" though I could be wrong

I think he meant David, not you. Everyone knows you are a great asset to the PNW Merillee! Excited about your Colt too! One of the first real rally cars I got to look at closely was a 70s Colt.

I'm a great big ass with a great big ass in the NW! I may not do much more than work controls and block roads, but I figure at least I consistantly show up. There are a lot of people who do a whole lot more work than I do, there is no doubt about it, so I don't think I'm a "great asset" but I do feel as if I'm a reliable one.

Speaking of my great big ass, does anyone happen to have a super sized seat for sale for a reasonable price? I'm supposed to codrive the mightymax at hood and the seat in it is horrible, but my hip bones just simply don't fit in the normal sized seats. I know that the fat can move and mush around and squish in/out into other locations, but the hip bones, they just simply won't work with me.

You concentrate on what you have been doing,, and ignore your intentional insult to people here who spend a LOT of time helping battalions of people....which was the point of previous comments...

Swing and a miss, as in the point of my post...

Good for you, now look for a Capri in the PNW, try
and find a fender in the PNW. Those that have them
can, and do ask premium prices for them, hell, call
Norm Murdock and ask him what he wants for one...

Sorry, I haven't wet myself over a Mk1 Escort, nor will
I. Calling the Capri "just longer" than an Escort is
somewhat misleading, it's also heavier, which leads to
all sorts of problems getting it to go in the direction
you want it to.

What's truly sad, is the fact you've just agreed with
using Volvos, and Xr4Tis as a starting point, Yet had to
have a good whinge about people using them??

Yeah. I am from the northwest, Rally an XR, but certainly do not fit into your description. John in no way talked me into an XR, nor do I preach that they are the end all-be all rally car. I was an XR guy before I met him. My car is easy to drive, is very potent, strong, easy to work on, and reliable. Why would you NOT build an XR or Volvo for 2wd rally? they sure are fun. Every rally guy that has driven my car comments that it is the easiest car they have ever driven.

If and when I destroy this car, I will build a Volvo next, just for the availability of parts, and they are proven to go pretty damn fast. WAY faster than I will ever go...

I think a Capri would be alot of fun too. Guys rally Gen 1 RX7's datsun 210's, 510's those are hard to get parts for also.
