Good comments,
And this is probably why I will get banned. Alas for 24 hours my Facebook page will be public for those who would like to read this. RedRum ; How many stage miles do you have under your belt ? How many continents did you rally on, how many crashes, turmoils, knee-jerk reactions did you live through ? Don't friggin talk to me about soap boxes kid. Chuck ; I got your back Brother. Mc Mahons; You are not worth of my response, some still remember what you did to dynamite RIM and got booted out mid rally. Don't get me started. You are not working for the benefit of the rally community here in the US. Pete Morris; Rarely we share the same opinion, and this is one of those times. Rest of you/us; Spectators + Booze + Testosterone = DISASTER Is there a cure for it ? NO WAY, people will be people and inherently stupid. Organizers can take all necessary precautions but can not fix stupid. I was in Portugal when The Big One happened and FIA deep-sixed GrB. I remember the terror in Carlos Seinz's eyes when he picked up fingers from his windshield wipers. I was the first one to say that there would be monetary and human life loss due to wild fires if they prohibit us from using the forest roads, did it happen ? You bet your nickle, we lost a Fire Fighter because the roads were not maintained, we the rally community, maintained to run stages on. Now the New Chick On The Block of the Forest Service in Cali can ask for another million bucks from the Government to maintain the same roads. Enough with the touchy feely compassionate BS ! We need to and MUST take action. I was on the phone with a previous Champion this morning, we are actively looking for an investigative journalist who wears his/her balls outside his/her pants to hit this topic Balls-To-The-Wall and save the sport we so love. How do you know? I tried looking at your profile (so did many others BTW) and it still exists. Where Moose and I are originally from, every accident involving cars that were street racing that ends up with carnage/death is headlined as "rally took another life". Evey idiot that drives careless is also referred to as a rallyist. I think his goal is to prevent this from happening here. He is right and we all need to get off our asses and do something about it! |

Shit, even Mike Hurst is throwing the screws to the Rally gang...
http://forums.corner-carvers.com/showthread.php?t=43748 With this post... http://forums.corner-carvers.com/showpost.php?p=856253&postcount=13 Hey Mike, how about saying you have 40+ road marshals on every stage?? Like we had on the Brooklyn stages at this years Olympus Rally... SteveL This is the point in the killing spree when you really should turn the gun on yourself |

How do I know I got banned? Simple, first they locked the thread then unlocked it, then when I tried to post I couldn't log in, I tried to reset my password, it said my email is invalid. Do I need more clues ? Naah, no hard feelings towards George and Ben at all. I am too much of an asshole, especially when I speak the truth, my truth, all based on real fucking experience, none of that keyboard rallyist shit.
Mike HURTS (not a misspell) is an equally big menace to the sport of rallying as the Mc Mahons. Their selfish and conniving know-it-all attitude will cost all of you. Me, I can care less, I gave up on knocking sense in people's heads long ago. And those who'd like to duke it out or would like to grind their axes in person can find me at Gorman. Cheers M.Samli |

marshals are good but they aren't always the solution and in fact can be part of the problem if they don't understand the full impact of the job they are supposed to do. at oregon this year i saw 3-4 marshals standing along a fence line worrying about taking pictures more than where the spectators were. watch this @ 6:18. it may not look like much but all it takes is one roll or breaking the steering or something. and before someone goes off and says "why didn't you say something" i have in the past. to a marshal who decided that the tape didn't apply to him and instead set up his folding chair on the outside of a corner. the response i got "shut up. i'm a marshal. i know what i'm doing." he moved after the first car came through. |

Yeah, I toned down my colourful language.
I must be getting old. We all appreciate all the workers and marshals but I remember a specific case when a marshal failed to inform a certain competitor that before the turn around a disabled car has been moved from one side of the stage to the other side of the stage. Consequently that same competitor ended up rolling his car when he came to that L4- Tightens to 3- and found the disabled car, he was expecting to see on the far left of the turn, dead smack in the middle of his trajectory. He wasn't amused, not at all neither was his codriver who broke his hand during the roll. When that competitor flamed the marshal on a certain forum, not only he got scalded he also got threatened by some dimwit via email. Worker training is serious business, spectator training is serious business. There is time for compassion and there is time for action. That's all I have to say about it. Cheers M. |

you really got banned over there? damned, that sucks.
I have to say I respect Denise M for all the work she puts in, but she contradicted herself a little bit. the whole, "sit back and do nothing but send your condolences to the family cause they need our support' post, but then starting a new thread saying the BLM is 'making a decision NOW', its like....jeeze, we need to do SOMEthing. I sent a nice/respectful email to the BLM asking them to not judge all of us/cancel other events because of this one accident. Hopefully someone over there will listen. My personal opinion, after watching the videos....spectator error. I mean, come on....if they let you, would you stand on the outside of the track at a NASCAR race? (maybe I shouldn't ask that question) |

Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti...
Terrible what happened at Soggy. Despite all the action we might be able to muster as a group, I suspect this is going to hit us all where it hurts the most - the wallet. Shame. Just a shame. Brian Driggs | KG7KCA | PHX, AZ | 89 Pajero alterius non sit qui suus esse potest |

I understand your point, we had a couple that were more interested in watching the cars, as opposed to watching what the crowd was doing. I was more concerned about the idiots that started drinking, at 9:30am, falling onto the course while one of the cars was going by, it took about 1/2 the field for me to get them to understand that we didn't need a death during this rally. I only got 4 photos, the only decent one was of our own Albert Kun... SteveL This is the point in the killing spree when you really should turn the gun on yourself |
