Snoqualmie, Washington

The Snoqualmie Valley really is a beautiful place. Greg & Steve chose well. Dirtfish is located adjacent to the Snoqualmie River at the western foot of the forested Cascade Mountains. Mount Si (pronounced sigh) dominates the landscape and rises 3,500 ft straight above the valley floor. For out-of-state folks, take note of what surrounds the DirtFish Rally School:

5 minutes away:
- Old Downtown Snoqualmie: restaurants, groceries, gas, etc,
- Snoqualmie Brewery and Tap House
- Snoqualmie Falls (270' high), Salish Lodge at the top.(swanky)
- Victorian Train Depot and bone yard museum (Northern Pacific, 1890).
- Mount Si Golf Course (18 holes).
- Mountains, trees, elk, deer, eagles and endless recreation is everywhere.

10 minutes away:
- Interstate 90. Gateway to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area. (remote backpaking)
- Rattlesnake Ridge, hiking & mountain bike trail (11 miles long, endless views)
- Snoqualmie Casino (Snoqualmie Tribe), It's huge and beautiful.

Some folks on vacation stop here for a few days on their way to Hawaii or Alaska.
Yeah, I think DirtFish found a pretty good spot.

when i was there tuesday, they were waiting on an inspector from the county that was following up on some noise complaints. I guess one particular neighbor has been complaining alot. It would be pretty easy to make the cars quiet, I don't think there are many students that would complain of not enough power.

If I was running the place that would be priority number one. Then next would be a fleet of more disposable cars, FWD and RWD. For the cost of one of the Group N Subies, you could have 6 $20,000 2wd cars built.

This was a mill at one time! Someone needs to tell the old people to S.T.F.U.!

Funny that the city or county will take a look at the problem like this but if someone steals your S.S.N. or ID, rips off your car, rapes your kids, nobody cares! Just another day at the office!

On a side note, I would not pay that kind of money for a day at the mill!

I agree, but it has not operated as a mill in a very long time. Unfortunately, not everyone likes to hear a Subaru all day long. It is silly for them to not make the cars whisper quiet.

A 300 acre chunk of land that has places to drive on would be great.

Having neigbors and/or a community that dislikes any car racing except for Nascar, because anything else is just hooligans being unsafe and stupid, well, that just sucks.

900 bucks a day, though? Hmm...

Around here, one of the less expensive go-kart tracks ('bout a half-mile course) charges 75 bucks an hour. (four 15-minute sessions. 1 qualifying, two sprints, and one 'feature'. That includes the rental and everything.

So, say you actually get about 6 hours of karting in (which would just plain exhaust and fatique the living crap out of you) that would be 450 dollars.

Cars are more expensive than karts. parts are bigger, moving more mass, so will wear more. more oil, more fuel, more tires...

I think the price point is probably reasonable, DEPENDING on how much actual on-course time you get. Granted, it's probably not wheel-to-wheel like karts are, and if you're going out for a group thing, like karting, or paintball, or whatnot, that takes a lot of the fun-factor out of it.

Reasonable, yeah, probably. Something I'd do? Hmm, probably not. If it's just a flat surface, without trees and terrain, well, that's what Lake Winnebago is for in the wintertime. ~1+ mile road-course plowed in, 12+ inches of ice, and 25 bucks for the event entry (covers insurance and gas money for the plow truck, and the prizes/trophies), and as many fun-runs as you can stand.
