I work on Porsche race cars every day and that just made me throw up in my mouth a little.

JVL, when I wreck the subaru, will you help me build one on the cheap? grinning smiley

Sure, I've been looking at the suspension on those for oh about 25 years. Easy.
Start with a 912 shell, and use the 2.7l and have some fun.

If yer gonna build a rally Porsche from scratch, and you've got a balled-up Scoob lying about... EJ25 goes in Porsche.

And we could all learn a thing or two from Michele.

Why the hell would you put a Sub A Rat motor into a Porsche sad smiley . I wouldn't put a Sub motor it into a 914 even. As Dave said I can taste the remenants of puke in my mouth, need to go and gargle drinking smiley .

I think it has something to do with the Subie lump being more affordable, more reliable, more efficient, and more powerful than the lump what originally come in the car.

I think it has something to do with the Subie lump being more affordable, because its cheap[ junk with a cast iron crank and cheap cast pistons, more reliable than some things because they make almost no power more efficient but that's moot in a performance car, and more powerful in the masturbatory wet dreams of people who don't know, than the lump what originally come in the car.

Fixed that for you.
Could be that some people care about the facade and false status of having a Portch, but don't care about ruining a car by shoving some cheap lightly built thing into a car which really does work good.

More affordable? I'll give you that, but most Porsche owners (at least of the six cylinder variety) aren't so concerned about that but would definitely be concerned about putting in a Japanese engine that would greatly devalue the car.

As for your other assertions, you really don't know what you're talking about, do you? How many times has Subaru won the 24 hours of LeMans or the 12 hours of Sebring, again? Oh that's right, zero. Porsche has a long history of endurance racing success and has been winning races (and yes, rallies) since long before Subaru started making cars that weren't a complete joke so your assertion that a Subaru engine is somehow more reliable is just silly. As for being more powerful, well that's just too ludicrous to address.

Or maybe I just got trolled...

I don't know if he was joking but he's down in the AZ desert so maybe he just popped some peyote buttons and was in the Dream World without his Yaqui master to be his guide...

You know i keep a Subaru 2.2 crank just to show people what a piece of shit weak shit it is, and of course there's Subaru rods etc. Near fraudulent that they call this weak shit car parts...
Portch 911 parts now.

I'm serious now, always said when ever i see something like the rods
OI, now there's a rod (actually you know me Daver I'd do the Curly thing not nyuk nyuk nyuk but when he's scared---howdya write that)

I'd say the two powerplants 911 vs EJ are POLAR OPPOSITES.

well, lets give'm the benefit of the doubt and assume he's talking about an actual Porsche boxer engine (I assume that's what's in the photo? NOT a 911?)

stock suby? yes, everything you said...but its not difficult these days to pop in some forged pistons, rods, etc (sti crank is pretty decent), upgrade your turbo and a few other ancilarry things and get 400whp reliably. In a little boxer roadster that could be fun.

NOW, compare that to a Porsche 911 or greater engine? yeah....I personally wouldn't go there nor do I have the knowledge to even try. My old 911SC's flat 6 was fun as hell way past the normal life of any subaru engine (built or not)....definitely a high maintenance bitch though! (and I loved every minute of working on that thing)
