Funny, every generation thinks, things are harder fro them in in racing that things are "way" faster "now" when ever now happens to be.

Here is somebody some of us watched and admired near the end of her WRC career which really ended end of 1986 after 13 years since her WRC debut.

She's 58 years old, and she's going to do Rallye Maroc, (a classic in its day for you young pups who think 100 miles is a big deal) so here's a clip of how this woman who is older than even me, and supposedly I'm older than dirt.







Seems to go pretty good considering she hasn't driven in competition for 23 years
And is old.

Looked up the results the other day. She took 2nd place overall. I still wanna kick myself for not going and watching her at pikes peak when I had the chance.

I had always thought that Michele's driving style was too aggressive. She seams to have mellowed nicely over the years! I love how cool and calm she is in the video all the while driving the wheels off of that 911. Her commentary is insightful despite her speaking a foreign language........while driving the wheels off of that 911!

Not entirely true. She was competing in the Andros Ice Racing championship wielding 450 hp AWD 4-wheel steering cars in fairly recent years.

Sure, I've been looking at the suspension on those for oh about 25 years. Easy.
Start with a 912 shell, and use the 2.7l and have some fun.

I'm a fan of Mouton's too... thanks to you John. I made my wife watch it thinking she'd dig seeing a badass woman doing badass stuff in a badass car... turns out I'm more a feminist than she is.

Still my favorite quote, after she won Pike's Peak in 1985 and beat the pants off Bobby Unser, who was talking smack about her with the other good old boys because a woman beat them on their mountain:

I saw a guy on NASIOC that put a EJ257 in a Porsche Boxer. I wonder if I can put a EJ257 AND transmission in a 911? Then it would be a FWD subaru in a RWD Porsche

I saw a very interesting build of a Euro (Mrk 6) Escort, mid engine turbo Subi. He built it for doing track stuff.

I have a video at an early 1980's RAC where someone asked Michell about driving with out notes as the RAC did not have them yet. She said something like "To have a car and to go out into the night and not know where to go, for me that is rally"

I always liked that as I enjoy blind rallys my self.

She was running 2nd overall with a bad flu.

If yer gonna build a rally Porsche from scratch, and you've got a balled-up Scoob lying about... EJ25 goes in Porsche.
