Big White Rally
November 28, 2010 10:24PM
Anyone going? I will be chauffeuring the rally master through the stages. For my efforts I will get to run the snow-x afterwords.

I am going to attempt to drive my Saab 96 up there. I'm leaving on Thursday morning. It should be a fun few days if the motor stays together!

FYI, I talked to the organizers this morning and they are in need of experienced stage crews.

It's too late to get passports renewed or I'd have another person or two I could bring with me tongue sticking out smiley

The whole passport thing stopped a few people from going to the last Canadian event also. Probably ought to work on that as well as the HAM license thing...

I just got home last night. Big White has the best winter roads that I have ever seen. The snow was perfect and the grader operator did an excellent job building berms on the outside of the corners. 154 stage kms in one day! I am told that the cost per stage km is the lowest in Canada.

Unfortunately my drive shaft failed in the transit after the first stage. We switched to the back up car and continued on as 000.

I will be going back next year!

Some service crews skied to the service park this year!
There is a gondola from the service park to the village and lifts from there. Many of the hotels are Ski in/out.

I was really excited for this rally and once again it was awesome! I'll be back next year! I haven't seen any pictures yet but if anyone has links post em up! Anything of car #2 would be very much appreciated.

I took some, but haven't had a chance to find my camera yet. After it's last use I tossed it into the back of the car somewhere. So far I've only unloaded the food out of the car. Though I am lazy, I've also had to catch up on work since the guy filling in for me while I was gone got sick. I'm no photographer and it's a cheap camera, but I should have some pics (quite possibly blurry). The friend of mine that takes great pics ended up in the hospital and wasn't able to go to Hood or Big White (though she's slowly recovering, she'd better be better enough for Doo Wops)
