Adjustable camber/castor on club level cars, who is interested?

Who is interested in adjustable camber and castor

So here's the nice alloy Ford motorsport arms i have been trying to get a pair I can afford for for ever.
Thse are what i want to make as a "basic" arm to be tailored to fit a bunch of different cars---so the unit cost can be held lower by making a bigger series

This is an early version without the big M24 left hand threaded sleeve, the one's I'll be making pretty soon--ish will have the LH /rH threaded thing so adjustment of camber---and the compression strut will have the same, so camber and castor can be set by cracking loose a couple of jamb-nuts and twisting an adjuster, then snugging the jamb-nuts...

Who is interested in really strong, really nice adjustable arms?

Yes! Those are awesome! Plus my ball joints are f'd and happen to be integral to the arm! Now, what color is KB's helmet?

I'm in for Nissan 240SX ones.. but somehow I think I'll probably have to make them myself... maybe I can buy some parts from you John, like the 24mm LH thread thingy...

I've been thinking about this for a while, but have never got around to it, as I can mostly get my camber right with the top mount. But more adjustablity is better, especially as the car get's tweaked more :-)

Hmmm... bacon :-)

Martin---and all youse other wise guys, measure the width of the inner pivot bush.
Seems there's a limited number of widths and we want to collect them so I can compare the trumpet shaped stainless inserts we already have for Subies and 4 links.

The compression or tension strut bracket thang is sumpion that will have to be tailored to each application as well as whatever we have to do for the ball joint pin..

But I'm jazzed. I have been spoiled by have an old nice double a arm Saab with easy camber and castor adjustment and have always thought it'd be nice if ordinary schmucks like "us" could have cars where we could set the suspension parameters, and of course have strong enough stuff we can whack into things and KEEP GOING at speed.....

After 20 years, it looks like we're getting closer.

I am interested, provided we're not talking about another 20 years til production. Actually, I'd prefer if we weren't talking years at all...

You know what I'm trying to avoid dontcha?
I'm trying to make sure the things are done BEFORE talking final price and doing deposits..

That means I have to cover the materials and all the diddly parts (spherical bearing, rod end, spacers, balljoint pin, bushing) and machine work myself..

Problem is that right now I'm short $1668 from somebody who I sent full set of Nissan SR20 suspension to on 7 September, and 388 bucks for soome headers sent in early August..
Previous customers both.
That sucks hugely cause I don't have thousands just laying around for tieing up in making stuff..
Really sucks big time, and 20 phone calls 15 or more emails have all gone unanswered...

meanwhile William has also been fucked for $2000 for some of his stuff sent to Ontario.... so he's getting wary, too.
Sucks, but what to do? Out of state is bad enough, out of country is even worse.

That sucks John, and for William too. The only real answer is to only ship after payment is made in full and deposited to your bank or cash in hand. You'll recall, I always insisted on paying you for stuff at the time we did the deal... that's how I'd expect to be treated, and that's how I treat others.

So, what you're saying is you need the following info for all the different cars:

Length of track control arm
Angle of ball joint to TCA
Length of compression struts
Mounting direction of compression strut (to front of wheel well or to rear)
Mounting distance of comp strut to TCA from balljoint
Ball joint mounting to spindle info. Type, angle, etc

Length of track control arm from pivot to center of balljoint
Angle of ball joint to TCA more or less
Length of compression struts ----nah not now
Mounting direction of compression strut (to front of wheel well or to rear) sure
Mounting distance of comp strut to TCA from balljoint
Ball joint mounting to spindle info. Type, angle, etc

No1: width between the ears on where ever the arm plugs into subframe

ie width of the sleeve in the rubber bush the arm pivots around

Really? Cause I thought that would be the easy part. I guess you do need that since you have to figure out the widest one out there and from there you can make them narrower. We had to shave a mm or two off the spacers that came with my comp struts from Comp Brake. If I recall, a belt sander made fast work of the job.
