Funny that this thread showed up....I was at Sandblast this winter and a group of 4 guys showed up with a Subie that was probably not this Flivver thing, but they did tell me that they we all teamed into the car in some fashion or other that was not fully clear. They are now re-doing the cage; it had a lot of good parts but a really goofed up main hoop; they were allowed to start with some reservations, but the same thing happened as happens 80-90% of the time with new, not terribly well built cars; they DNF'd in 1-2 stages with a dead engine. So much for $200 engines, etc. Since then, I have wondered how this deal would work for them, and reading this thread for the 1st time kinda answers it. Oh well, if you don't try, you don't learn....

if you want to see the team aspect run well have a look at the Honda Racing guys, they work together, build the car together and race together. Look at how they are splitting costs, driving and codriving. Only one person gets to drive per event unless the driver / codriver swap. you'll notice that some poeple drive more than others, maybe it's because they want to, maybe because they split the cost differently.

oh, as far as costs go we have +12 rallys on a $600 shell and 10 of them on a $150 engine, had it on the dyno last week, makes 114hp and 120ftlbs at the wheels. you just have to build up to it, at BRS '09 we had a bone stock ej18, jvabs, final drive, diff and race pads (still had the drums on back).
