I think I was grinning from ear to ear for most of the day at work after the event, and at my work thats a big deal!

I remember that Miata driver too, he looked quite shocked. grinning smiley

Sean,

That guy was funny. Did you notice how he was checking us out before the event? He thought that it would be an easy win!

I think that all the rally drivers would agree that the seat time was useful.

Robert.

Did anyone take any in-car video? I'd love to see it.

I got some, but my camera angles are terrible. I will upload some tonight though. Warning you, it is tough to watch.

Looks like you had a ton of fun. Not the coveted 10 mile gravel road but still a good place to get to know your car a bit more and work out the bugs before the stages.
i am curious, how many people drive their rally cars to work? how many people drive their cars to a rally? i would think the more you know your car the better more confident you will be. a friend of mine claimed he put over 60,000 miles on his production rally car by driving it everywhere, to and from events.

I drive mine to non Stage events, and I do drive it to work couple times a month. It's just not very comfy on a daily basis, and I don't have street tires and can't afford Rally tires....

After I built it I did drive it a bunch, just to make sure nothing would break at that first rally. 5,000 miles with no issues, then it popped a boost pipe on the second stage of my first rally, and repeatedly popped it through the next 2 stages. Then the co-driver window stopped working in the down position at the start of the 5th stage, the window unplugged the motor when it got to the bottom. So you really can't shake them down properly without racing.
