I was talking to someone a month ago about it, I think Nate Tennis. It is in California somewhere, they just got finished installing some wicked 275hp NA volvo motor or something. I will ask.

Cody are you thinking of switching to RWD? THAT would be the best rumor of the decade!

I think it would shut some of these RWD nay-sayers up when you clean up in a strong, reliable, RWD car...

I would think a few will agree with me.

Yeah but as always I'd say "why not do something nice---instead of what you have laying around?"

240 is a near idea platform for our roads vs the taxi cab 109" wheelbase of the Grandpa series.
Especially the miserable blow-moulded squashed kidney bean gas tank annoys me in the Grandpa cars as there's no room for an upper link on driver side of the axle, so Volvo just left it off.

Lesssseeee where would one get an adpator to stick a T5 from a GM V8 car?

Just look at the hilarious difference in costs----in the threads about "I want a dog box for my Subie or I'm gonna hold my breath till I turn Subie Blue" Where it was reported that swapping out a couple of gears during routine service cost what was it? $3800.

And for a T5 a complete gear kit costs $388
And a complete brand new box with the good gears about $1160-1250.*

*Gears suitable for a good turbo motor. (or a big high torque n.a.)

Sean has the car and plans to run it soon I was told a few weeks ago. Sean will bring it out when it is very well sorted. True I think the 240 is large for the stage so the 740 must be massive. I once called it the luxury car div car... But it has many of the good bits, many added since Carl last drove it, and a well prep'ed car is worth a lot. It was once said - there are no bad rally cars only rally cars that need more money and development.

Ooo. Where?

$388 is about the price difference between non-thrashed V8 box and give-it-away worthless 4-cylinder truck boxes.
