Truck, Did somebody say, truck? Check out this ad: $3000 Don't know any more about it than what the ad says, though.

That truck was rolled at Orgon Trail about 3 years ago. I think it was tore up pretty good. I haven't see it since the rebuild so not sure what or how much was done.

And the discussion comes around again...

- MB 2.3-16V is a wonderful engine (185hp) but first you must fix Limey screw-ups, like hone the valve guides so they don't jam (factory recall but hardly any of the owners got them fixed). 190 chassis is junk. Horrible "circulating ball" steering, front end and failing hyd clutch. K-jet can't handle any cam changes and slow as hell to rev. And have a nice day adjusting shim-under valves every 5000 miles on hi-reving race engine. I know this car well 'cause I had one. It's fine as is but no thanks for rallying.

Shimmed valves, fucking genius invention....although it makes a bunch of money for dealerships.

Thanks for the update, Gene. Odd that owner forgot the minor detail of the truck being rolled....maybe he was driving and doesn't remember?

Scene One;
Owner/driver slowly walks into his shop three days after the rally. Sees the crumpled pile of parts on wheels. Asks mechanic.
"Wow, is that my rally truck?"
"What happened?"
"Where's the hood...and the doors?"

Mechanic rolls eyes, shakes head. Owner/driver says, (everybody in shop joins in)
"Think that will buff out?"

I thought "used rally car" implied it had been turtle at least once.

Oregon Trail 2007 day 2. I saw the truck from a distance on the trailer. Seems like they said the tailgate was still good...can't find any pics. The truck was being rebuilt but I don't believe it has been on stage or teched since then. May be some pics on the web somewhere.
