Need rally car..
March 23, 2011 10:44AM
Not me,,,,
but I have contact with someone in eastern Washington that is looking for a RWD car. He has given up on building one for now and wants to get a completed car or nearly completed to get on stage this year.

I emailed him the link to the Colt, any others sitting in someones back yard? I'll try to get him on the forum, although that may change his mind about hanging out with us grinning smiley

Yes but according to a local guy who attempted to communicate, its the same old story. No phone answer, no email answer.

There is a guy going to look at Morten's car soon. What is the story on that Colt?

I talked with "the guy' who is Timmay's near neighbor.

Nobody knows what's going on with that and talking with the owner will by definition cause far more confusion than anything else.

One word: stoner contractor.

Is it?
I thought it was one and the same, like overly redundant.

No, there was a big old thread/argument about that. JVL made the motor blow up,, and then the guy's crops withered, cow gave sour milk, well went dry, rear end blew up, typical JVL pestilence stuff. Don't ask....

Morton's Colt has been sold... staying in Canada.

And I think Stoner Contractors prefer to be called stone masons.

Let's see if you give a shit about the new owner having any fun with that car: forward my number to them and send me their contact so the things that never got done can get done: an actual alignment to set camber something reasonable ie less than 6-8*, the castor can be set to something reasonable maybe 3-4*, the steering column can be slightly redone so it approaches the rack better. ie elongating the hole in the firewall, shortening the column, and adding some support; and if they want to freshen the bottom end, what dimensions they need since all the supposed "Hero" shops that it has been drug around to couldn't or can't figure these items out.

It is pretty pointless to set them adrift just due to your scared mission.

Stop the fucking pitty party John. It is really, really tired.

I knew of two people who were looking at the car. One asked me what I knew about it and I told him IMMEDIATELY that you were likely the best source of information on the car and what was in it. The guy who bought it has been around enough that I am CERTAIN he knows your history with the car and if he feels the need to dig up history I'm sure he won't be afraid to get in touch with you.

For the record, every time someone says to me "Isn't JVL a lying, cheating, crook?" I swiftly correct them and remind them that you have a wealth of knowledge in certain areas and have many, many apparently happy and repeat customers.
Since I've never done business with you I usually suggest they find people they know and trust who HAVE done business with you and get their feedback/opinions, reminding them that sometimes, particularly with 'back yard' operations, personalities get in the way of good business practices. (as in, don't expect a high end retail experience from JVAB... which is more of a compliment than a slam)
