Flophouse for freeloader needed for dirtfish rallyX
April 02, 2011 09:01AM
Like the title says, I need a Flophouse for a Freeloader (me) for the Dirtfish rallyX April 14, 15 and 16th.
I left the car near Portland and I'll be up there sometime the 14th.

Car #64

Barring a freebie, what's a cheap place to stay close by?

You're welcome to stay at my place, have spare bedrooms.

Is in Renton, not far from Snoqualmie. I'm heading up there myself.

Email me kris@fatboyraceworks.com for details.

And Rent-on is only 3-4 miles from the JVAB Heavy Industries World R&D and Research and Logistic Center and another 1.5 miles from the JVAB Heavy Industries Manufacturing Park.
And 2.2 miles to the Passenger Terminal at Sea-Tac so executives on a tight schedule can hop on flights with no worries.

So you could drop by and say Hi.

Portland to Seattle is the easiest part of the trip so, if everything works out,
I'll have a little extra time to witness first-hand the consumption of mass quantities of ciggies and tea.
Also, I expect the whole anarchy crew to arrive at the fish-works to see what's happening. I like it.

I was on the fence to run, then I called RA and asked if the Rallcross license is the same as a Rally car license, they said no. that busted the budget for me. $300 entry, $100 license, $100 window net, $40 each pit passes for me and my service guy....

Anybody want to sponsor me? I am awesome!

$100 window net

Now you just saved $80. So don't drink at the bar one night and you can make it!

Yeah, but it has to be quick release, the kit is $50, and shipping. Not looking for excuses, just having a hard time spending a whole entry fee to be eliminated in the first round...

I haven't been paying much attention to fees and whatnot this year. Entry fee of $300 and then you have to buy pit passes on top of that?

The license thing is ludicrous.
$300 entry---what's the "entry" for if you have to pay $40 more to get in.
Pit Pass? What if you park outside the "pit"?

That's the thing that is always so annoying for track things---YOU are putting on the "show' yet you have to pay to put on the show...

I wonder if the "officials" charge themselves $40 to get in to officiate?
'Spose they charge the 'amper-lance' driver $40, and concessions people?

And, at this late date, do we know the thing is actually gonna happen?
Did the Town Council approve the "TV program"?

oi oi oi....confused smiley

It's going to happen. I was asked to do tech.

RA/RC sanctions the event, someone else promotes it, just like a rally.

Phlat65...might be worth talking to the organizers about your situation and seeing if they'll cut you a break or something. They need all the entrants they can get right now and you never know what they might do to help you (especially on the pit pass stuff).

I can tell you at Irwindale anyone could just walk into the pit areas, so I don't know why anyone would pay $40/tech. Spectating the whole weekend was only $25, and lots of websites had 50%off coupons.

Also, people at the ticket booths weren't even looking at our printed tickets....I could have printed out 2 of the $5 tickets and no one would have known.

I would love to compete, and think I could put on a good show for spectators, we will see.

The "pit pass" is for the driver and any crew members that need to be on the track, aka in the staging area for the start. Since the public has open access to the pits, it really doesn't make sense to have more than one other person with a pit pass unless you're a factory team.

Also, they waived the whole pit pass requirement at the first round; maybe they'll do it again at Seattle.

I wouldn't worry about being eliminated either. With so few cars, almost everyone makes the A main.
