Sorry to see the damage, both to the car and your psyche. A lot of us have seen Jesus on stage. It will pass. Looks like the car isn't that bad, a snip here a tuck there. You can replace that quarter panel, may require a tug from a frame machine. Give it a day or two. You both enjoy the sport and it is still way safer than driving I-5 thru Seattle on a rainy day.

PLUS..it'd be a great time to fix those fugly rear side windonts....

Glad you made it through OK. Looks like it should buff right out.

I am going to make a point of not showing those pictures to the girlfriend.

I had a shunt with a tree this weekend in Tennessee as well that didn't turn out well. Like ours off, glad everyone was OK in yours with the circumstances over the weekend.

Glad you guys are OK! You've got one hell of a wife that's for sure!

Looks repairable, you should have Derik take a look at it, he did more than a few 100% reskins when he worked for us. A repair is far cheaper than a re-shell and takes less than half the time to rip old car, prep new car and then reassemble.

That was a hard hit for sure... glad you are both OK... seems similar to what we did at our first ever event, though you appear to have managed to keep the damage limited to the RR , although you managerd to include the roof and the hatch too.

Take a mental break, then fix her up!

-Martin.

What was he driving? Who was his co-driver? winking smiley

So....anyone want to tell the story of their 'off'? Sometimes it helps to talk these things out, and usually others can learn from the experience, even if 2nd hand.

Yeah, there's donor cars aplenty, especially for those parts..

But boys Sean is a more balanced boy than mosta us, he didn't have to bother thinking about the time interval that it too for the impact to be THERE vs less than 2 1/2 feet forward in the middle of the door.
That is his wife sitting there next to him. I know he loves his wife.
She's all gung ho, but he knows it was less than 1/10 of a second between a re-shell and real hell.

Let's all be encouraging as can be, I already volunteered to do what I can, but let's let Sean exhale a bit.

That poor guy from Michigan missed by that less than 1/10 second.

Sean. Were you running in-car? Was it as big of an impact as it looks like? I know on my car that is probably one of the softest looking places an impact could occur. Not much sheet metal, windows, and a good distance before the cage or sheet metal bunches up enough to stop moving.
Taholah is a fast stage though. Too fast in my opinion.

I was thinking the exact same thing so I would certainly respect any decision Sean makes about continuing to compete. However, if he decides to get back out there Pete is right, that shell could be fixed probably for cheaper than prepping a whole new one. John Lane's Volvo, for example has been rolled about 5 times (kinda lost track, really) and the only original part of the shell is the floor from right behind the seats up to the firewall and strut towers. After the big one through the stumps at Wild West the body shop clipped on the entire rear section of the body and roof right over the original rollcage, so it can be done.

Glad you guys are okay. I've had a soft spot for your car since the first time I saw it at the Night on Bald Mountain TSD. Liked it even more than those silly Toyotas Adam and Dustin run. Hope to see you back out there when the time is right. Best of luck!
