Need a daily driver
May 22, 2011 12:22AM
Sold my toyota 4 runner Friday afternoon. Looking for a daily driver under $3K
Idaho is seemingly truck country.

VW rabbit
Merkur xr4
miata
Rx7 (maybe)
BMW 3 or 5 series
audi 20v
???

My only requirements are price, fun, manual trans, no rust and fun.

I did see this, It's a little further than I want to travel this week, but early june looks promising (happen to be heading up that way anyway). Anyone take the time to look at it? Anyone have any other ideas?

I want that 242! I have a 90 civic 4 door you can drive for free until I get back. All you have to do is replace the head gasket and insure it. I have the parts just didn't get to it before I left.

That looks like fun. Anyone have time to take a peak at it?

I'm tempted, but I am struggling to find time to put together an engine already. Where is the car?

It is a PNW Volvo. It will be rust free. If it runs and drives, it is good to go. E-mail him, if it is close to me, I will go look at it for you, or he can bring it to me at home in Edmonds, or at the shop in Bellevue.

Going to take a look at this puppy. Sounds pretty slick, if it is as clean as it looks, I might have found me a car

$3k for an 81 Rabbit? Seems a lot steep.
It snows up there right? I'd find a cheap Impreza or Legacy. They'll go anywhere, get decent gas mileage, are cheap and ridiculously easy to work on, and are easily fun to drive. There's also alot of cheap used aftermarket parts out and pretty much are like Legos. Then there's the snow. I've yet to drive anything that I find to be as much fun in the snow as an AWD Impreza.

Yeah, It is a bit steep and I have a walkaway number in my head. But it is perfect, original paint and some tasteful mods. As well as meticulously maintained.

It's tough to find a clean subaru in that price range. Everyone of them has body damage or is an automatic, or FWD.

There is a an 88 325 ix that is really clean that I would like to take a peak at.

Define clean?
What is wrong with a little body damage? We were joking the other day about how I think every single car I have owned has had a big dent in the rear d's quarter.
The auto or FWD ones are definitely downers though.
There's a ton of them here, but they disappear fast! It took me two months of trying before I finally got one, and it was pure luck as a friend listed it on facebook. Did get it for only $200 and yeah, it has some body damage, no back seat, and leaks a bit of oil. It does awesome at getting me to and from work and shop and stores. When it snows I get to go have fun.

Gross on the BMW.
