Found a couple cars that meet my requirements, kinda time to decide

1990 Audi coupe quattro- turbocharged, coilovers, bushings, new tires timing belt and turbo etc done 40k miles ago. Has a couple cosmetic defects. 200k miles $3k

1994 audi s4 (my fathers old car)- Sat outside doing very little last couple years recently purchased by my brother, small cosmetic defects, broken bumper. Chipped ecu, 148k miles -stock everything else. timing belt etc done 55k miles ago. car has stayed in the family $3K

1993 legacy wagon turbo 5spd 200k miles, some minor mods cosmetically pretty, decent maintenance, asking $4k blue book is $2k I wouldn't pay more than $2,800 if it's absolutely flawless.

Haven't heard on the gvr4

I'd get the Le-gassy.
Easier and far far cheaper to keep going which is what a daily driver is all about.
Think: Lego

AJ. Legacy Wagons were never 5 speeds. If it really is and a good install and in decent shape it's worth that for sure.

it is indeed a true 5speed, wrx trans converted car. Going to look at it this afternoon.

Also had a 10vt 80 quattro offered to me for what i'm looking to spend.... It sounds good on paper to have a daily that could be used for rally car spares right?

That is traditionally the smrat way to do things.
I mean you like them and all, and i personally feel any seat time in what I'm driving counts IF you select in brain "pay attention" mode.

question is, are you a smrat boy?

I really am gonna need a better mustache if I'm gonna rock a gremlin.

Subaru was very nice. not a single ding in the paint, a lot of parts from a donor wrx. Needs tires.

Audi is just as nice, but it's in portland.

Car shopping is fun.

If you buy something in the Portland area, I could drive it out to you when I come out for the rally. I'm also thinking the roommate may not be ready to give up the Galant yet, but I'll bring it up again this weekend.

The roommate is considering selling his Galant VR4 if you'd be interested. The body isn't perfect, but it's not fucked up either (a few small dings, etc).

My daily driver is a Galant VR4.

PROS:
- relative exclusivity, numbers point to barely half the original 3009 still around
- open diffs throughout, but still goes an.e.wher.e.
- there are approx 900,000 potential DSM parts cars in the US

CONS:
- popularity among the "4-door DSM" crowd leads to rough lives
- not the most economical cruiser (expect low- to mid-20mpgs combined)
- VR4-specific trim pieces are getting exceedingly rare in North America

They're fantastic cars. Really. And there's an incredible amount of support for them out there thanks to their being predecessor to the DSM/Evo. I originally got one in the hopes of getting more Mitsubishi enthusiasts involved in rally, but I bought the second one because I didn't want to feel bad stuffing the first one.

Anyway. I've been daily driving my spares package for the better part of 3 years now. I would recommend a GVR4 to anyone looking for something reliable, unique, and with a little WRC history behind it.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Volvo propaganda. (Which I must ignore, lest I start thinking about selling the Galants again...)

You want the 5mt swapped Legacy turbo wagon.

Utility and fun.

Good luck getting a trans, a diff, a downhill bike and a couple greasy hipsters from the craigslist rideshare into a Miata.
