Yeah, It is a bit steep and I have a walkaway number in my head. But it is perfect, original paint and some tasteful mods. As well as meticulously maintained.

It's tough to find a clean subaru in that price range. Everyone of them has body damage or is an automatic, or FWD.

There is a an 88 325 ix that is really clean that I would like to take a peak at.

You do not want an IX if that's their 4wd thing.
Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerry expensive and doesn't have enough poop to need 4wd.
A LSD in a plain jane one would be moar baller.

eh body damage drives me nuts. I think it literally eats at my soul.

Clean- No rust, no dents, no pealing clear coat, minimal rock chips. good brakes, good tires, Maintenance history, tasteful upgrades. Clear evidence of an owner who took impeccable care of their car.

Gotcha no IX model BMW's
Subaru would have to be perfect for me to want it. I've owned a couple and had a blast with them, but there is no real pizazz to em. If I can find one that someone else has put some h&r's and some care into I'd be interested. But I dont want to have another engine out project and a stock legacy doesn't excite me.

Don't you have a rally car? Isn't that supposed to be the exciting one and the daily driver is just a tool? smiling smiley
I just did $2500 worth of service on my girlfriend's Legacy for $450 total. Also did some work on a friend's Outback last night for beer. I always tell my friends to get Subarus because they are the only car I am willing to work on that isn't a rally car. And I usually do it for beer.

Yeah, But I'm a laid back hobby -ist. I work on it when I have time/funds and dont need to run buy beer. Rallycar has been sitting mostly dissasembled for some time now. waiting on summit to get the ring compressor to me so I can begin reassembly. Need something semi-fun in the interim.

Am I gonna get shot for going to look at a miata?

Dude... miatas are great cars. One of my fleet is a 94 that is turbo'd etc. Freeking rocket, but the truth is that it was fun with 1/2 the hp (not as much fun).

Round headlights, flat hood, 2 doors. Mmmmmm

get this.

That looks like fun. Anyone have time to take a peak at it?

I want that 242! I have a 90 civic 4 door you can drive for free until I get back. All you have to do is replace the head gasket and insure it. I have the parts just didn't get to it before I left.

I'm tempted, but I am struggling to find time to put together an engine already. Where is the car?

It's in Mtn Home unfortunately. Also it's a crapomatic.

Really shitty day in the car shopping world. Looked at a "mint" rabbit. POS, rusted floor boards, misc disconnected wiring everywhere, hole in the dash, rust bubbles appearing in the quarters. I really wish we could go back to the days where you had to pay for an ad. All this misrepresentation is pissing me off. (looked at another "perfect" car that looked like someone had rolled the fenders with a bobcat... It also didn't come with seats. WTF be honest when I call you so I dont waste my friggen time)

lol so far the miata has been the most mechanically sound and physically nice car I have looked at. It's also the cheapest, and owned by a possibly wise gentleman. Problem is winter would suck.

Looked at a legacy tonight just to appease you guys. Weaping headgaskets, smelly coolant, warped rotors, rear struts on their last legs... 140k mi all for the bring me home of $3500. I passed. (Body and interior were in fantastic shape)

Call me lazy, but I dont want to do headgaskets 2 weeks into owning a car. The rest woulda been doable

The roommate is considering selling his Galant VR4 if you'd be interested. The body isn't perfect, but it's not fucked up either (a few small dings, etc).

GVR4 would be a super fun daily driver!

That Legacy sounds more like a $800 car to me.

I wish he'd have sold it to me when I was looking for a car, but he just wasn't ready to part with it back then. It's great in the snow too.

Found a couple cars that meet my requirements, kinda time to decide

1990 Audi coupe quattro- turbocharged, coilovers, bushings, new tires timing belt and turbo etc done 40k miles ago. Has a couple cosmetic defects. 200k miles $3k

1994 audi s4 (my fathers old car)- Sat outside doing very little last couple years recently purchased by my brother, small cosmetic defects, broken bumper. Chipped ecu, 148k miles -stock everything else. timing belt etc done 55k miles ago. car has stayed in the family $3K

1993 legacy wagon turbo 5spd 200k miles, some minor mods cosmetically pretty, decent maintenance, asking $4k blue book is $2k I wouldn't pay more than $2,800 if it's absolutely flawless.

Haven't heard on the gvr4
