Hi guys
I am completely new to this forum and am trying to tread very carefully! I own three Alpine-Renault A310 V6, all three of which I have raced/road rallied/hillclimbed/sprinted and driven on the road as a 'normal' everyday car. My first A310 drive was way back in 1978 when a friend of mine (who owned an 'exotic car' dealership) imported one from France. We both also raced and rallied the famous Renault 5 Turbo (Turbo 1 & 2) which were the mid-engined beasts, tuned to give 250hp against the factory Maxi-Turbo at 350hp!! One of my A310's is an ex-DeLorean development car which was fitted at DeLorean in Northern Ireland with the 2849cc Volvo version of the PRV V6. DeLorean needed more power than the normal PRV V6 offered in carburettor form (150hp) and also needed a car to evaluate the PRV V6 engine. The A310 was the only car at that time fitted with the PRV rear-mounted, so DeLorean bought six A310's. My car was the engine test bed and was used and modified as necessary; with the larger capacity (standard PRV in an A310 was 2664cc) and fuel injection, the Volvo unit pushed out almost 190hp. It was the US emission gear that strangled power to a measly 130hp and made the DeLorean DMC-12 as slow as a wet dog. My car has NO emission gear and so I have all that lovely power to play with in a car that weighs 980kg! Take a look at my website: www.a310alpine.com and let me know what you think. I used to rally in the UK many years ago, competing against Roger Clark, Arri Vatanen etc. You have a superb forum that offers a really good open discussion ethos. Keep it going! Old racing drivers still do skid marks - they just smell different! |

Oh boy a furnier with funny cars...welcome!! I used to sell Renaults here in the states in the '70s. Somewhere I have an award from Renault proclaiming me the top salesman on the west coast ( I think I sold 7 in a year). That DeLorean mule ought to be a pretty collectable item.

Yep he probably even has some of the Sooper Bitchin H profile rods and forged CP Pistons that he got from, some guy how did he put it? Oh yeah, "a total asshole who has never been productive in his life". I probably doesn't remember that he has them though, he seems to have been having some severe memory problems, seriously severe. Who did all the internals in the V6? Who? WHO? WHO????!!!! John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Let me guess, ummmm, it's on the tip of my tongue. Just a minute, it's coming to me... Could ya give me a hint? Oh, and I think you'll see him out there again, eventually. Not this year, though. |

Hints? Well he said (of the guy that did his parts)---with no hint of irony--- "You're not a producer!!! I'm a producer" More hint: "You're an asshole" Another time he said "You're an asshole" So the hints are:
So what is the deal with Lane's memory, is there some um--medical problem, or chemicals, or did he find Gawd and forget everything? Don't drag them into this! Just want to be clear that I did not EVER have anything to do with Lane's engine internals. |

JVL with the way you behave online + how many of the parts you have supplied to me and others with experiences eerily similar to mine............
Perhaps you'd do well to just let it lay. Yes; I have a set of H-Beam rods; supplied by JVL that oh oops! Turns out those pesky rod bearings need to have a spot for the tang to sit in........ oops! Hows about that set of a dozen pistons that were ordered by JVL a full millimeter smaller then the engine uses........ JVL shall we bring up the engine you built for the Hornetkar that you fitted with bearings a full .010" bigger then belonged in there? Bummer for that crankshaft. Shall I continue? Or would JohnVanLandingham prefer to just let it go?? Long term memory is fine JVL...... and JVL is no hapless victim. You claim your memory is faulty elsewhere. you have said you'll bring the Hornetcar motor down 8-10 times, but haven't. Yet still complain... Don;'t start with your shit John, in case you're too stupid to understand, I am still trying to send people your way, just having fun with Dave suggesting that you might be the person to talk to about the internals---or has your medicine interfered with cognition too much? I believe people don't have to love each other---or their repeating Rush Limbaugh 24/7 raving---to do business. Did the Peugeot guy from New Zealand get hold of you in the last couple of weeks? I filled him in about what you might have still? Did you search for the Ford front end parts for the other guy I sent your way, OB or O'Brian from Portland. If there's was an issue with the tang groove or whatever, why is it now 5 years later that you are first complaining about it? Are you the sort of person who would prefer to whine and cry about shit 5 and 10 years later---or are you just too fucking disgusted with Seattle to venture into the cess-pool to come and get things fixed----so you don't have to whine and complain every few years. Why don't you shut the fuck up, Lane and be gracious like you like to pretend you are and talk to the nice man about the rods and pistons.. Oh exactly how many days did it take to get replacement pistons for CP's error? I still have my phone log Lane and its the right size in nice blocky doodle figures about an inch high with shadow effect.. But how many days to get the size you needed. Can you count that high? More than 5 and less than 8, Lane. Why don't you mention that, Lane. Now shut up and talk about your stuff. Bring whatever you need fixed down and it'll be fixed---if that's what you want.
