Yeah. It would wreck a soft road, not be to bad on a hard road, and not be noticed on tarmac. I'm not worried about what happens at 30 cars... once there is a community that active, you just expand it to multiple stages.

Turnarounds. So multi-driver cars would swap out after a down and back. It gets a little confusing and there would be some time in the make-up session for multi-driver cars. It's not perfectly fair because conditions or weather could change, but that's the choice that the multi-drivers make.

Those fees vary widely all around the country, and are zero in some places, very expensive in others. Since they are changeable and negotiated, there's no way to predict what they might be. The program will be awesome in some places, and unworkable in others. But that's no different than any other rally budget.

This is great! Makes organizing at a spot I have been thinking much more do-able now. Time to get the ball rolling I guess

With the way a lot of turbo AWD drivers drive, I would be more worried about the 2wd cars tearing up the road...

So so true.
It's also my belief that Open Class/turbo AWD is not sustainable for privateers. I'll lose a few competitors at first but if they are real rallyists, they'll come around.

The CHCA events have had almost no participation this year in AWD rally. Jeff Regester's car has some monster engine with a rumored $30k dogbox. I would rather see ten-twenty people in 160 hp Subarus battling within seconds than see who has the biggest inheritance, construction company, or credit line.
Someone asked me if I had a good video with anti-lag from one of the events I've been to. I told the truth. I have no clue because I have never watched a single clip of an open class car aside from Block's wreck at NEFR. I just don't care about the class in any way shape or form.

For tarmac, if I were in Oregon/Washington State, I'd look at the Mary Hills Loops Road:

If I were in NC/VA, I'd look at US Training Center's (f/k/a Blackwater) track in Moyock, NC:

Track looked like the weak sister.

Tarmac is fun, doesn't get damaged, and is easy on cars - you don't know what you are missing.

Don't have a picture, but Como Colorado looks like it may have preplatted dirt roads with no development. May be worth a look.

We had a hill climb in Hartsel, CO a few years ago in an undeveloped but dirt roaded development.
I have a compiling list of many such places, around ten of them, all being listed by one realtor all within 4 hours of Denver.

Can you elaborate on this a bit more? My car club (www.qcma.og) LOVES the dirt, and the prospect of running a rally sprint would be AWESOME. The logistics of a full on regional CARS event hasn't been possible due to our small participant base, but something like this would really grow the base here for sure. (AND incentive to get some local caged cars fir for rally)

So could a Canadian club affiliate with NASA Rallysport - or is there an agreement between NASA and CARS?

I don't want to step on any sanctioning body toes - but this definitely sounds doable to me if we can get the insurance ironed out.

Organise it under CARS sanction. (QCMA's affiliation with WCMA and CARS pretty much stops you from insuring under NASA.) Besides, Insurance for a rally sprint event under CARS is $775.($5million spectator liability, $5million participant liability, inclusion of landowner and volunteers as additional insured plus participant injury coverage)

Rallysprint rules are in the CARS rule book

The Atlantic region (ARMS) has worked a deal with the CARS board for a 'per-entry fee' similar to, but much lower than, the stage rally events. (this helps set a predictable budget since you know what the insurance cost per car will be.) That would have to be discussed and approved by the board, but with the ARMS precedent... should be a slam dunk. (I think it is $35/entry so a 10 entry field would be $350 TOTAL insurance bill to the event... but you have to make the 'deal' with CARS first... even at $775 over 6 entries - 3 shared cars - is $130/car, leaving you $120/car for other costs.)

For the competitors, Rally Sprints only require a region issued 'basic' licence (for now) so no medical, no first aid just membership in an affiliated club and a handful of dollars. Driving suits are also 'recommended' but not required. HANS devices are also not required but are highly recommended. (I'd expect to see this change fairly soon.)

Rallywest has an inventory of sign boards for loan (or a set or two for permanent loan I'd suspect.) There is also the electronic timing gear that can be made available at a reasonable rate and TONS of organizational experience.

This looks interesting. Place is set up for events. Even has on-site lodging available. Claim over 3 miles of road with a big variety of corners.

I had been thinking of another location for a sprint bt this looks like fun.
