Say Bye to the Neon and build a E36 compact rally car!

And even though you like Bowel Movement Wonders (or Bavarian Maggot Wagons) you can't be that bad, you posted your name and location without prodding from a Godlike Moderator!

I regret selling that car so much. Supercharged and a well tuned suspension. Believe me, I thought long and hard about building an E36 for rally, but wanted to race in this decade and bought the Neon (mostly) ready-to-race.

if I move from the Neon, it will be for something driving all four wheels, but I am good for now.

Come on learn from your own experience... You had it right, (even if not quite right) and you really miss it.

Trust us---you would be all round happier with the next car being simple RWD.

And the sNee-on will be a slightly warn, slightly damp memory by time you exit the second corner way sideways.....

Keep it and do just what the last 2 very happy boys who listened did : rally it with a FOR SALE sign in the window with some stoooooooopid price, and if somebody waves the right amount, grab the money and run...

And meanwhile having found a nice $200-300 buck Volvo or Xratty that you already began doing simple things on,...........

mwuh ha ha ha ha!

Or even a Break My Windows!

Some guys around here who just put together an XR4 for rally said that even with an open diff and stock "glass" wheels that made them stop for something like 832 flats (maybe it was just two or three), running that car was the most fun they've had at a rally.

But I'm just a hanger-on who takes care of his kids instead of playing with rally cars.

Thanks for the welcome. John, did we meet at Dirtfish in early april for the 3 day school? I think you were taking pics and were friends with Dan Brown and Doug Heredos?

Look forward to meeting you in person, Al.

hey Sean! Good to see you over here! I"m still fixing some NNR damage, so I won't be competing at Mendo, but I think I'm going to work it, so I'll see you there anyways.

I hear you on NNR damage, but mine was not as bad as yours appeared to be. I have a leaky exhaust manifold gasket that is screwing up the 02 sensor and PCM. Fixed the power steering, got the rest of the exhaust hung and will fix the rear brake caliper I broke driving car off trailer (story worthy of a beer)

I am definitely down for some beers on fri and sat.

That was Doug Chase. You'd remember if you'd met John. smiling smiley

Welcome, Sean, to rally. You're definitely well prepared with your past experience, and you have the right attitude. Looking forward to seeing you at some rallies.
