Dose any one have dcoe stuff?
August 10, 2011 01:29PM
This is for the older crowd like Gene that used lots of carbs in the day winking smiley

I want to make some itb's for my focus and need some dcoe 48 shafts
and butterfly. The best part is there's no need for injector ports just holes
and shafts!
And on ebay uk I found this!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-DURATEC-DCOE-T-BODIES-INLET-MANIFOLD-1-8-2-0-2-3-/250867828788?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a68e34834

The biggest problem i see having is the maf might not be big enough
to support more free flow with a box over the body's. I talked with a tunner
and he said what percentage you make the maf larger match it with injectors.
the stock duratec is 20 lbs injectors and if we do 35 lbs that would be plenty
to do around the 250 hp range. for now I want 190 with cams and itb and tune.

srsly.

I've been noticing a few different adapters for 4ag throttle bodies. You may try looking for one of those? They come with a TPS...

Not that I want to but what if just cams and this set up on a bullshit flash works?
it would profit a lot more than if I sourced a quality stand alone and said hear you
go, but its $2,500 just to make 190 hp

If it works with as much stock junk and works OK than I think I could make good
money from the set up also drill more holes and put a map mount for latter.
and people that want the real deal. With the about of Focus and Mazda owners,
I really think its worth trying it with a maf on stock junk. I could be wrong and it wouldn't work for shit

huh there is no point to trying anything other than supper simple customs that can
be replicated cheaply with no injector port needed we are about there. If i wanted itb's there are 5 company's that make them but they start in the $1800 range just for the itb's.

with out new pistons all you have is air flow that's it, cams and turn the rpm up you get more hp, but in the uk they can make 200 bhp with itb's and a tune, no cams.

there is a lot of bs margin in the tuning world but with the home made itb and cams
there is no reason we couldn't come up with 190.

How many do you need? I have 1 45 OER(webber clone) DCOE where the body cracked. I stripped it down for spare parts, but I could be talked into letting it go.

But won't really help if you need 48's and a pair.

I'm trying to find a pair I just want to save the trouble of making my own throttle shafts for now
but its looking like that might be what going to happen I have 50mm butterflies just hanging around
I would like to make my own if the project works because I can fit it with sealed ball bearings and O ring
seals.

Take a look at '86ish F150 5.0L throttle bodies, I think they're around 50mm...

Or the 460,,even bigger. Some of the Dodge Intrepid POS had a dual throttle body also.
