It's in Oregon near Mt.Hood...confused smiley

http://mthoodrally.com/

Someone hacked the Oregon websites not long ago.

Simon Levear retired as chairman and Ben Bradley and Matt Tabor are doing the honors this year.

It is RA, no RallyMoto obviously.

It will happen and much fun is there to be had by all.

Three great stages, repeated. 50+ miles, Ben was trying to get a bit more mileage to bump it to a coef 3. $400 entry fee is what I heard. Recce friday, race Saturday.

Last year we rented a house up at the ski area? it was 30 minutes up the road, but worth every penny. There are tons of vacation rentals in the area. Thursday through Sunday, and it was around $400. My whole family stayed there, mom included.

The parc expose and service are also typically run out of a campground.

But yeah also check out Cooper Spur. Thats the ski resort rentals Sean is talking about.

Great fun and it is beautiful that time of year in those woods.

One service area at a fantastic campground. Lots of room and great surface to work on. Many camp there. We've stayed at the Cooper Spur also...just a few miles up the road. Not much in the immediate area of service, small town nearby, usually where tech is at. It's somewhat similar to the Brooklyn stages/Aberdeen area .

It is a huge rec area so accomodations are all over in the form of lodges and rentals. Seems like most everyone really likes the stages down there. Traditional rally roads, get yer drivin skilz on.

It will be on Saturday, October 22.

We are starting to get stuff posted at http://www.mthoodrally.com (as was mentioned, the site was hacked so we've had to do a complete rebuild). I don't think the Rally Guide is posted yet, we'll try to get that up there soon. It has all the local area information (thanks again to Simon Levear for putting together such a comprehensive guide).

I know the Supp Regs are posted.

It is a Rally America-sanctioned event this year, there is a bunch of info in the "Regional Events" "2012" section (it counts for the 2011 PNWRC, but the 2012 Rally America PNW Championship for those who worry about these things). Enter through the Rally America website (http://www.rally-america.com).

Since this is our first year in the post-Simon era, we decided to keep things simple, it will be identical to the 2009 event. We may try to add some stage mileage in the future once we get to know the area and the people, but for this year it will be a C2 at around 54 stage miles.

There will be recce on Friday (October 21), there should be enough time for two passes of all the stages.

There is no official HQ motel, but there are plenty of options in Hood River, and Cooper Spur is quite nice.

The awards and post-rally food will be at the armory in Hood River again.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I do stop by to visit this site every day or two. Or e-mail at rallyben at gmail dot com.

Look forward to seeing you at the 2011 Mt. Hood Rally!

Ben Bradley

PS: It's Mark Tabor that is the co-chair. Matt Tabor is competing.

Yup, nice campground, camped there last year. Ran service right out of our campsite. Individual shower rooms. Not just individual showers, but your own outside to inside door with dressing room and then shower area. Crazy. Decent prices for camping too and they weren't worried about us leaving after the cut off time, or using a little bit of the space next to us as long as it wasn't already reserved. The guy who runs it just seemed really happy to have us there as long as we kept him informed and asked nicely.

Yeah... I don't think everyone wants the Zero car to set fast stage times.
