I hope everyone else had a great time. By the time we got the car loaded on the trailer it just sorta made sense to hit the road in abject defeat. We tore the RF halfshaft and stub axle outta the trans 3 miles into stage 1. We didn't hit anything, it just um fell out...We seem to be missing a couple pieces to the puzzle but we'll be back for Olympus with that problem sorted out. Since nothing else seemed to be wrong with the car, and since its new cornering limits seem sooooo much higher than before the frankensteining, I freakin cannot wait...

I was seriously bummed to not see you post a time on stage 1. Glad it was just a mechanical failure Jay. Lets get back out to PGP one of these days, and thrash on the cars again.

Was an awesome rally with some really close battles. We had a blast until it came to an early end. Sorry for ruining Fir Mt. for everyone.

Why's that Billy? Did you decide to ride around on motorcycle while the stage was hot?

Sorry for the ribbing(pun intended) but I'm truly glad you guys are alright. You looked, and sounded, great both times through.

That was a great time, the only thing that got smashed was the skid plate, and it got smashed good!

Big thanks to Ben, all those Tabors, and everyone who made it happen.

Nice meeting you this weekend, Al.

It was cool seeing folks from California. Maybe we can get even more folks from Cali next year?

One thing's for sure, Mt Hood is becoming a special event for 2WD racers. Tough competition and a very healthy amount of prize money just add to the 2WD appeal.

As for me, I had fun being the service crew for George and Tom and hanging out in the service area all day. I brought along a handheld ham radio and had good situational awareness of what was happening on the stages. Great event!

Yeah, that was a great race, we had a good outing for the first time with the new car, and the first time actually on gravel!! The organizers did a great job, and if you missed the after party, I hope that becomes a yearly event as well, let's just say some shizz went down that night, HA HA!!

I also want to apologize to all the teams behind us for shutting down Fir Mountain the second time around.

I have so many people to thank for the help and kind words that afternoon and late into the evening. Thanks to those that helped spin the car a bit to unblock the road. And to the medical folks that sat me down and made sure everything was still attached. Thanks a million times over to the Sweep dudes and dudettes ESPECIALLY when my crew got lost with Wild Irish guys and nearly ran out of diesel. Gizmo(William) got under his truck and got diesel from the water separator canister. They assured me I wasn't the only guy to ever go off the road in a rally car and not to feel too bad.

BIG THANKS to Steve Greer and his crew and the use of his trailer for getting this unprepared noob out of the woods. Thanks to the two awesome ladies that sat me down and gave me oxygen at Tollbridge when we got back. That made my big headache go away. I believe Tink was one of their nicknames. Awesome gals.

Billy. You complete me. hehe, but really it was rad working with you. The energy and professionalism you brought into the car changed rally for me. I hope your ribs feel better soon and that we can race again in the future cause we were hauling a metric shit ton of ass.

Thanks everybody for coming out to the rally, as competitor or volunteer. As organizers new to the event we appreciate the enthusiasm and support despite not everything working out quite as planned. We took copious quantities of notes, and will endeavor to make it even better next year.

Simon left us a great event, and we are glad to extend the legacy. It just seems like one of those special events, like Doo Wops, where things just somehow come together to create an event that just feels good. It's hard to explain.

The post-event shindig at the Shed was great fun, so thanks Hendo and whoever else made it possible. I hope it does become a tradition; the proxmity to the armory is quite convenient.

The results are, as mentioned, at http://www.rallydata.com and I will post a .pdf on the event web page shortly if nobody has beat me to it.

I don't think we will be doing any formal sort of event evaluation, so if you have any comments, criticisms, and/or suggestions for next year, please e-mail them to me at rallyben at gmail dot com.

Thanks again for being part of the 2011 Mt. Hood Rally.

No... I'm still slow. Just happened to be driving a fast car. Just wait till Celica 2.0 is complete. I'll be back to my old self smiling smiley
