On that note... who do i go to for engine work in the Portlandish area (drive is alright I love exploring new areas)? I'm in need of a bore/hone and bottom end balancing on my VW TDI engine.

I've heard that Portland Engine Rebuilders is a good place. Napa in Mcminnville charges me $18/hole on bore and hone. All the blocks they did for me were great, but their hot tank sucks.
PER does everything so it's a nice one stop place, and they do really nice work at decent rates.
