My astute driver and I were discussing making one out of Cardboard-fiber and we thought we could make a passable looking one if we used some "carbon fiber" contact paper but then we thought some whiny weenie might complain, or some jealous scoundral like that New and Improved Dave Clark would protest us just so he could beat us and win the 6 pack of Blatz Beer.

So we figured probably oughtta barrie one.

SEAN M you using both of yours this weekend?

Hey wanna be "floating Service?"

Maybe that layabout Tom Burress since he can't be troubled to enter.... TOM!!!

Whaddya say?

Anybody in NorCal can spikka wif AL, anybody up here can contact me.
I promise I won't barf on it.

Phone is better than PM

I think Safedrives has a rental program if you can't find out to borrow. Does your helmet have the posts installed? The HANS really loses its effectiveness if you try and duct tape it to your helmet.

If you have duct tape, I think one of the approved devices is to just wrap it around your head and duct tape your helmet to the seat back. I forget how many layers (probably different between RA, NRS, and CARS, just to confuse us).

John, you can borrow my R3 as we aren't going to be able to make the race. Al can call/text me at 916 871 8576 to coordinate pickup.

With Al driving? Not a chance!
I have a second one now, too: The Kevvie bat.

But since I'm such a generous fellow and belive in sharing, I lend out one, as needed, of course

I am pretty certain that the HANS uses a D-ring on the helmet. If this is the case, then the R3 quick release should work no problem.

Actually, HANS has a boss-thing that the tether slides over/snaps onto. No D-Rings. Although that's as useful as I can be because I don't know what the R3 (or others) use...

About that Blatz Beer...

I thought I'd be driving a sillycar. Now it looks more like I'll be driving a mazdogIII with more piss and vinegar than I'm accustomed to. This wasn't some elaborate bait and switch maneuver to add more beers to my beers collection. Promise.

I've got a friend heading down to Hood - I can send my HANS down with her if you need it and if she hasn't left for the event yet. I'll have to bus it to her in BC before she leaves so I need to know soon.

I don't lend out helmets.

Let me know ASAP if you want my HANS. I should ship it today if it is going to make the connecting trip south Wednesday afternoon. PM or Email works.

Yeah, whatever. Just make sure my 6-pack is cold at the end of the day Saturday.

John:

I just saw this thread.

I'm not using my HANS this weekend; you are welcome to use it if you haven't already lined one up.
