I'd like to pick up a set of the 185/65 14".

How would I go about placing an order?

Hi James.
Could you be nice and complete your name?

It seems just in the last few months a lot of newbies are intentionally not following our one unbendable rules and putting up either no real name or just a first name...

It really does help to know who we're talking to...so unless you're like a big celebrity like Liberace or Madonna, we want to know just who we're talking with.

Thank you...
Many of us are tired of the normal forum crap and crap talk, a real name makes one act like we're talking to real person in a way a cryptic name doesn't...

James-

You can place an order on the website or give a call at the number listed in the contact section of the site.

http://www.dmacktyresusa.com/

If you have questions email me at info@dmacktyresusa.com

I just placed an order for 4 medium compound 175/70 14" to test out before I make a large purchase for tires.

Do you expect it to be difficult to get more tires of this size later in the year?

Thanks for the order!

The 175/70 14" will be a tire we are stocking and will be available in at least two compounds (medium being the most common). The 185-14" will only be ordered by special request though we do have 10 of those currently un spoken for on the first order.

You'll need sumpin a tad wider for a five foot, five inch wide wheel.
If you happen to have a 5.5" wheel, it'll be fine.
It'll even work on a 5 1/2" wide wheel.
In the real world rim width can be anywhere from 65-80% of tire section width. Skinnier on gravel, wider on asphalt for rims.

The recommended wheel size for the 185/70-13" is 6-7". The 165/80-13" is recommended for a 5.5-6.5" wheel. That's not to say that it wouldn't work but it may be a a bit weird since the tread width would be wider than the wheel.

If there is interest I can see about getting some stock in the next shipment, I was focused on bringing in a decent stock of common sizes in this first load.

You know, Justin we can all read what TIRE MFGs say on websites but if you are going to sell tires you may find it beneficial to find the underlying math, and to do that you might spend a few weeks comparing wheel sizes CAR MFGs have used and tire fitment , compare Northern Europe (ya know, where it rains and snows) to Southern Europe, then you can arrive at a %
Then do that over the decades.
Then compare car markets.: USA , EU.*

You'd see that OEMs would probably have a 4"-4 1/2" wide wheel with a 165/80 tire..

And you'd see the anomaly that USA consistently gets wider wheels and tires than anywhere else, and that tire MFGs always reccomend, always, alll of them, wider wheels than the car MFGs use...

Knowing that, not believing, but knowing that would help you answer inquiries better than "may be a bit wierd".

* Yeah of course i did all this crap I'm suggesting, I was always puzzled why US cars and owners always wanted wheels and tires about 1 to 2 "steps" bigger, wider than anywhere else even on stock power junk...

What is the price on a 175/70 14" vs. a 185/70-13"?

All tire pricing is on the website HERE Both of those sizes are $150. There are only a handful of 185/70-13" in this first shipment but plenty of 175-14".
