I'm continually amazed at the amount of specific concern about tire sizes.
Brake clearance, price, and style dictate the wheels people buy.
Availability, price, and size should dictate the tires.
Justin said: "175/70 R15, 195/65 R15 and 205/65 R15"

I would think it'd be pretty easy to figure out which tire you want to use based upon the gearing in your car and events. Or is a difference of 2 mm between one tire from Dmack and another tire from Bridgestone really enough for some people to justify a difference of $100 per tire or whatever amount it is?

Group 2? Go for the 175/70 R 15.
Group 5? Go for the 195/65 R 15.
Open Light, bigger tire for more rough or super high speed events. 175 for the smoother and lower speed events that aren't as rough?
Open - Similar to OL but look at the 205 vs 195 depending upon event.

Just in case, approximate tire height, (175 * 0.70 * 2) + (15 * 25.4) mm. To get inches, do (height in mm / 25.4).

(175 * 0.70 * 2) + 381.

381 is easy.

I was told by D. that the 185/70R15 is the EXACT Same tire as the 195/65,
and the only reason they make the 2 tires is that some vintage series wont let you run a 65 series tire.

there was an older .pdf from last year that had more specific details including diameter.

At the Tall Pines rally, 10% of the field crossed the start ramp wearing DMACKs, and those that finished all won their classes regionally, and will all be taking advantage of the OSM/DMACK contingency program.

PLEASE TELL ME MORE!!!
That a Canada Only thing?
any plans for SCCA Rally Cross contingency?
any plans for Rally-america Contingency ? (regional ? )
any plans for USRC contingency?

Please let me know. even a little contingency would go a long ways

Grant and Chris ! ??
So Open Lite (2700 pounds before crew)
165 HP up to maybe 195 HP Crank

You'd go with a 195? Soft or Medium if you rallied in the south west (air temp 50F - 95F) :O

Details are here: OSM/Dmack Contingency Program

Admittedly our program was created before DMACKusa came about, and we figured on more US customers, but we'll honor it for OSM's customers competiting in the US.

If I was running Open Lite, I would be running the 195/65-15s, and in your climate the mediums.

i just want something about 62cm....

175/70-15 is your tire. While they are on back order at this very moment, they are listed as 616mm in diameter, which would generally be rounded up to 620mm or 62cm.

Funny all day I'm all agreeing with people.
I just got off the phone an hour ago telling him the same thing.

In the southwest events I'd get the 195 and medium or hard compound. Rough and hot and would you rather squeeze a few tenths a mile or a few extra stages per set of tires and increase puncture resistance. For something like North Nevada, Mendocino or Idaho where it's smoother and faster the 175 might be beneficial for gearing and weight, depending upon your gear ratios and final drive that is.

Well you said to go with a short sidewall, which ironically i already have been. I've been using a 185/65/R15 . but ya a 195/65/R15 seems pretty peachy thumbs up smiley

DMack Tyres USA is not planning, at this time, on offering a contingency program like the one Old School Motorsports is providing.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that our first stock order from China has been delayed and will not be arriving until the 3rd week of February. In order to guarantee tires for folk who need them for 100AW and Rally Mexico, I will be placing a special order from the UK warehouse. This is also your chance to get tarmac tires for NY without special order shipping premiums.

Anyone who absolutely needs tires in the next month, please email me over the weekend so that I can finalize the shipment on Monday, otherwise stocking tires will be available The last week of Feb..

Also, in regard to the questions about tire measurements, all of those details are in the PDF catalog on the website

Hi James.
Could you be nice and complete your name?

It seems just in the last few months a lot of newbies are intentionally not following our one unbendable rules and putting up either no real name or just a first name...

It really does help to know who we're talking to...so unless you're like a big celebrity like Liberace or Madonna, we want to know just who we're talking with.
