I has snowed all day here in Edmonds, started out to work this AM, called in, no work, and no OK for the one car i have there so back home I went. Worked on my seat mounts today. Played in the snow with the boys, went to the store for the wife. there is about 1 foot of snow on the ground. Probably the same tomorrow I am guessing.

The snow wasn't bad, just 8-10" but I was handed a list today for groceries.
Well I had made a mad dash at 6 yesterday all the way in to town to UPS Brianne Corn's rear strut bodies with new and improved CrMo rear "ears" and that was no biggie, no cars except a few fuels in the gawdam SUV crawling at 12 mph and using no signals etc and the windshield was clean when I parked..
So today I had between 3/8" to (I actually got out some very-near calipers) 1/2" ice covering the whole car and I got to spend 50 minutes chipping and scraping.
The got stuck in the road.
back into driveway and made a run at it---gotta back out and turn the back uphill..

Go to the store, bought supplies, got in the car and it sunk and stuck...

Two friendly guys gave me a push for about 2 feet and I was on the way.

Lots of sideways action in the 5 blocks home.

I'm mostly worried about the poor innocent trees, we had one small fir fall over and all my bamboo is all leaned over pretty scary...

Its all those Conservar-tudes fault! I betcha $10,000 it is!

We had about 12 inches or so yesterday and about 8 before that. 3 4wd chevies so we get around just fine. When they started calling for the warm up and rain yesterday Brent and I had to shovel the deck ..500 sq ft or so. Snow had drifted to nearly 3 ft on it. Hence the sore back. Cleaned part of the roof on the carport today, still sore. One engine swap in the shop but my mechanic couldn't make it in. Work in the parking lot but no parts runs for 2 days...sucks. Got the gennie plugged in to the house so the power doesn't dare go out. Some big tree branches snapped out back. Been clearing the lot with the Yanmar..4wd and diff lock on, not exciting but it works. Wished I had an old rally car sitting here.

We've got about 12-14 inches in all here, if you find an area that hasn't been touched. Otherwise, its a pretty compacted 4-6" of ice. On a giant hill. Wahoo.

Luckily, the snowrolla does pretty well on Ipikes, although, there have been a few times a locked diff would have been nice.

Gene, if I lived closer, I would come help shovel for whiskey!

Us New Englanders would gladly take some of that snow off your hands. I've put maybe 50 feet on my Ski-Doo this winter...out of the shed for October storm, stuck in uncompacted snowbank in about 10 feet. Back to shed. Shed to garage in November for new shocks and track. Garage to shed. Only 6" or so on the ground right now. Even up on the Quebecistan border the snowmobiling is "moderate to marginal" whatever that means.

Apparently my Quattro didn't want to be driven today because it had encapsulated itself in a half inch thick force field of solid ice. I had to use a hair drier and a screwdriver to pry the door open (yes, of course the ice scraper was inside the vehicle.) I fired it up and cranked up the heat and a little while later the ice was melting from the inside out making it easy to pry up off the glass in big sheets.

no clue how much snow we got tue night because it started raining before I woke up at 5:45 am on wed, I'm guessing the wet wet snow followed by rain is why we had the tarp/carport in front of the shop collapse on Wed morning and break the front window in Todd's awd colt

This is my first year with 4wd, bought Brezeale's old Audi 80 Alcan mule, must say, that car with new studded Hakka's is pretty much unstopable, borderline boring. Just got home from dropping my Mom off, had her over for dinner.

Yeah, it is pretty awful down here too, it has been overcast for two straight days. And it got below freezing at night a couple of times and I could see by breath in the morning. Brrrr.

Under the back seat is a blue/white wire going to the rear diff controller. Snip that little guy and suddenly your rear locker doesn't turn off at 15mph (the locker switch works as an on off switch). Makes it a lot less boring, but definitely not the fastest way around.

I was outside this morning in just a pair of shorts. I've not needed a coat for some time. Yesterday was t-shirt all day.
