This is an uncharacteristically agreeable thread. Somebody needs to be a naysayer and get an argument going. All this getting along is boring to read.
Here's a nay for the thread. The toyleta is on the west coast and the holmes on the east coast. Not worth the tow IMO. Plus there's another Golf for sale right there in PA from Ozgur Simsek...

Lots of stuff done to it and pretty fast I recon. I drove it to 2secs off of Ken Block in the Escort MK2 at RNY a few years back. And he can buy it at less than half the asking price of the other one, and also has the good gearbox and diff and final drive, etc. Surely Ozgur will be glad to spec it out.

Any more info on this car? Is it listed somewhere?

Did Block make it more than 47 seconds that time?

Mah bad forgot to tell you it was on an 1/8 mile drag race and I felt like Vin Diesel double clutching the gears.

You were granny shifting when you should have been double clutching! Now me and the mad scientist have to go replace those piston rings you fried!

So I bought a rally car yesterday.... I bought the car stated in the OP, checked out the car, and I'm
happy to say that he came to his senses and I paid nowhere near the asking price.

However, I found that one of the rear springs is broken. The seller didn't have any info on the suspension beyond saying that it was 'bilstein suspension'. So does anyone have any info on rear spring rates and where to source a pair. I have no experience buying or building suspensions. Thanks for any help.

150lb is the preferred...depends on the car and the driver though...

I like a little bit of understeer for better control, so I am going to drop a few lbs from that even.

as far as supply, it depends on what size/length springs you have...Summit is pretty cost effective
