Have you worked any rally events? I would strongly encourage you to do so.
I won't speak to buying or building a car other than there's a strong consensus to buy something complete that has been rallied in the none too distant past. i haven't worked any rally events, back in the states i went to a lot of circle track racing and helped a couple times there but i never even saw any rally live just on TV. I am going to the Wittenberg (http://www.msc-wittenberg.de/) rally on the 31st to watch the Volvo original cup racers since I think that could be a class I participate in.

I will look at how to volunteer but everything is in German and its hard for me to even figure out where the races are (I really need some German friends). I'm gonna get that book and see if i can at least learn to read some German. I am also going to look in to a driving school and hopefully i can find some like minded People to help me past the language thing.

I disagree. If you haven't been to a rally in person you can see a lot more my just going as a spectator. Make sure you find a good schedule and make sure you get to service as well as the stages. Next event, volunteer and start getting involved in the community. (I'll help you learn Germaski by making little things you can SEE the closeness. One thing you MUST remember is we speak simplified Engleski now but only 350 years ago we still spoke a more inflected-----ie all the verbs and nouns and weird shit all had more tense indicators. Think of the good Ol' King James Version of the Bible that I was smashed over the head with till the words eventually came in. In the KJB they STILL had what ever other language STILL has: the formal and informal personal pronoun for "YOU" which is what that "thee" and "thou" isand then there's those endings. Here is a Oldish Engleski sentence followed by a Nemenski. What makest thou? Was machst du? Fawk me if it ain't the same damn thing. So first you have to think thee and thou and makest and do-est, and oh yeah 'ge' pre-fix said very softly as a tense indicator.. like 'wass hast du gemacht' wha's has you made OK? It really helps.) So: Verdammte scheiss , Junge! Wittenberg ist ganz über bei Polen! (dam-sheeeeet, kid! Wittenberg is all over by Poland!) Read up everywhere you go. The web of history is everywhere. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wittenberg The roots of wha's happen in Wittenberg echo loudly in our daily lives and news... You MUST send piccies.. But in advance write somebody in the offical position with VOC and just straight 'splain to 'em and say you want to learn VOC and German...and intending to go to Wittenberg.. From what I can see they'll probably adopt you. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember!
